Somebody once said, “Peace is that brief, glorious time in history when armies pause to reload.” The many broken treaties throughout history suggest this might be true.

The most pressing question facing world leaders throughout history is this: How can we achieve lasting world peace? Let’s bring that question closer to home. You might ask, “How can I achieve lasting peace in my marriage, family, or church community?” Perhaps you and a friend are experiencing conflict and wondering if peace is possible.

Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9). Peacemakers, not peacekeepers and certainly not troublemakers, create peace by stepping into the hard places with grace, truth, and love. Would you like a peace of happiness?

I really enjoyed this post about finding little moments of happiness—it’s such a nice reminder that peace isn’t always something big or complicated. Lately, I’ve been trying to simplify things and focus on small joys, like good conversations or even just a quiet cup of coffee. On a related note, if anyone’s been dealing with media frustrations, I had a surprisingly smooth experience with msnbc customer service recently—they actually made sorting things out way less stressful. Feels good when a company just gets it. Thanks for sharing this piece; it really brightened my day!
