Entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg recently proclaimed that Facebook is the place where real communities will form in the future, replacing what the church and little league baseball teams have been doing for years. Not so fast Mr. Zuckerberg!

Technology is a wonderful tool in today’s world, and we use it in the church I serve. But it will never replace God’s plan called the church. One thing the success of Facebook does reveal is the deep human desire for connection and community.

The church is the place to know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated. The bride of Christ is the hope of the world because of the gospel the church proclaims.
