For some, waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is not any easier than waiting in the doctor’s waiting room, which, I admit, is not easy for me. The New Testament mentions the Second Coming of Jesus Christ 318 times. Yet, the church has been waiting two thousand years for the promised return of Jesus Christ.

Some in the early church grew weary of waiting for the Lord’s coming, prompting Peter to write, “with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8-10).

Paul wrote two letters to the Thessalonians about the Lord’s coming, encouraging them and us to walk worthy, stand firm, wait patiently, and work hard until Christ comes.
