Tolerance seems to be the highest ethic some people shoot for today. If they had their way, political correctness would rule the day. But is that what Jesus had in mind when he said, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged"? (Matthew 7:1).

No, it seems Jesus aimed his words at the kind of hypocrisy that corrects others without correcting oneself. "Judge not" is not about political correctness; it's about dealing with your own stuff first. It's about removing the plank in your own eye before you point out the speck of sawdust in your friend's eye.

If we took the time to judge ourselves, we might not have time to judge others.
