The element of surprise is a thief’s best friend. That’s why he works at night, when people aren’t expecting him to come.

Jesus had this in mind when he said, “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed” (Revelation 16:15).

Beware the thief who finds you naked! Now that’s a picture, isn’t it? A thief never announces the day or the hour when he plans to come. Neither does Jesus, which is all the more reason we should prepare today. Clothe yourself with the righteousness of Jesus, your Savior, and stay awake to his Second Coming.
