Jesus once told a story about a prodigal or lost son. The word “prodigal” means extravagant, even reckless. Through loose living, the young man in the story quickly spent through his father’s inheritance. He was prodigal in every sense of the word.

But you’ll also meet a prodigal father who welcomed home his lost son and threw an extravagant party for him. “Bring quickly the best robe,” he said, “and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate” (Luke 15:22-23).

Are you lost? Don’t wait for an invitation to come home? Trust the prodigal Father’s heart and begin your journey today.
