The Fatherly Son
Isaiah’s promise that the Messiah would be called Everlasting Father invites us into a deeper understanding of who Jesus is for us (Isaiah 9:6). This name does not confuse Jesus with God the Father; rather, it reveals how the Son relates to us. Jesus is the fatherly Son—one who loves, provides, protects, and stays.
Earthly fathers are imperfect, and many of us carry wounds, losses, or longings connected to that word. Christmas speaks directly to those places. In Jesus, God gives us a Father who never abandons His children, never runs out of compassion, and never withholds what we truly need.
Jesus does not ask what we want but lovingly supplies what we need. This Christmas, receive Jesus not only as Savior, but as the Everlasting Father your heart has always needed.
