The Belt of Truth

In ancient times, a Roman soldier wore a special belt as part of his battle gear. This particular belt is what the apostle Paul had in mind when he wrote about how the believer in Jesus Christ gets dressed for spiritual battle. Ephesians 6:14 says, “Stand, therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth.” 

 

Putting on the belt of truth is the first thing we must do as we get dressed for victory in spiritual warfare. Why first and why the belt of truth? Because the devil is first and foremost a liar! He is a disinformation strategist. 

 

You wouldn’t put on a pair of pants and forget your belt, would you? Have you put on the belt of truth today?
