Every day of life is special because it’s the day the Lord has made. But some days are more special than others like birthdays, holidays, and holydays. One day tops all others. It should at least arrest our attention. The Bible calls it “the day of the Lord.”

The Lord said through the prophet Joel, “Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming; it is near” (2:1).

The day of the Lord was near in Joel’s day. The special intervention of God into the affairs of human history is also near in ours. Are you prepared for the day of the Lord?
