"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man" (1 Corinthians 10:13). That's good news from Paul's letter to the Corinthians. It means we're not alone in fighting temptation. And because Jesus successfully resisted temptation, we can too.

The writer of Hebrews says, "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin" and "because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted (Hebrews 2:18 and 4:15).

That's even more good news for all of us who struggle to win the war within.
