It’s next to impossible to live a healthy Christian life apart from the regular consumption of God’s word. And yet, some Christians try by neglecting spiritual food. Reading the Bible infrequently, for example, leads to a chronic condition called spiritual anorexia. Are you a spiritual anorexic?

Such malnutrition was far from the soul of King David. He loved the taste of God’s word and couldn’t get enough of it. In Psalm 119, he says,

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!  (v. 103)

I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word (v. 16).

Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day (v. 97).
