Signs and Wonders
In the early church, God gave the apostles the ability to perform signs, wonders, and miracles to authenticate the message they spoke about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This was a transitional time in church history before the full cannon of Scripture was in place (Hebrews 2:3-4).
During His earthly ministry, Jesus warned about the generation that always seeks a sign, calling it wicked and adulterous. “No sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah” (Matthew 12:39), a reference to His future resurrection.
In some, the supernatural works of God produce a greater confidence in the word of God, demonstrate the unlimited power of God, and astonish the people of God. But will it yield faith in you?
