“Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes and not be burned? Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? So is he who goes into his neighbor’s wife; none who touches her will go unpunished” (Proverbs 6:28-29).

Solomon didn’t back down from having difficult conversations with his son, especially when it came to managing his sexual integrity. Posing a rhetorical question, he compared sexual immorality to a fire that will burn you.

Take the fire outside of the fireplace and it burns the house down every time. So does sex when it blazes outside of the marriage relationship for which God created it.
