“Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside.I was so foolish and ignorant—I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you” (Psalm 73:21).

The incongruities of life troubled Asaph. He finally admitted he didn’t know what he didn’t know. That’s not easy, especially when you have more letters behind your name than alphabet soup.

God’s ways are not our ways; his thoughts are not our thoughts. And he’s under no obligation to explain himself. When good things happen to bad people and vice versa, it’s time to humble ourselves and ask God for His perspective. It certainly makes no sense to walk around bitter about things you can’t change.
