One of These Days

Are you a procrastinator? “One of these days” is the favorite phrase of the dawdler. If you delay cleaning out the hall closet, serious consequences are not your worry. But, like Governor Felix in response to the Apostle Paul in Acts 24, if you put off until another time a decision about Jesus, you are at risk of losing your eternal soul to hell.

Thinking you will have another opportunity to say yes to Jesus is dangerous and presumptuous; plus, such thinking ignores how the human heart hardens each time we say no to God.

That is why the Bible says, “Behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2), and “Today, if only you would hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Psalm 95:7-8).
