We often use weather storms as a metaphor to describe the journeys of life. Sometimes it feels like we are going through an emotional hurricane. It is difficult to forecast the storms of life, but one thing is sure: The weather in our lives is always changing.

The Apostle Paul was no stranger to storms while sailing the Mediterranean Sea on his gospel journeys. “Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea,” he wrote to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 11:25). Acts 27 records another time Paul faced a life-threatening storm while sailing to Italy.

God uses storms to correct us and perfect us. Keeping that in mind helps us navigate the perfect storms of life while remaining safe in the arms of Jesus.
