When I was a little boy, I asked for an armored suit for Christmas. Not sure why. Maybe I felt vulnerable and thought a suit of armor was the best way to protect myself.

Some things we never outgrow. A spiritual suit of armor is exactly what we need to protect ourselves from the onslaught of the world, the flesh, and the devil. The breastplate of righteousness, for example, is spiritual armor that guards the most vulnerable part of us from the devil’s attacks and relentless accusations.

I never received the armored suit I wanted for Christmas as a little boy. But thanks be to God. He gave me one when I became his child.
