In the movie The Blind Side, Sandra Bullock plays the mother who adopted a directionless boy named Michael Oher, the future offensive tackle for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.

Michael’s high school football coach couldn’t get him to understand the game of football. That’s when Michael’s mother interrupted practice and had a conversation with “Big Mike.” During the next set of plays, the massive offensive lineman protected his teammates like a seasoned pro.

Mrs. Tuohy then turned to the coach and said, “You don’t get Michael! On his entrance exams, he scored over ninety percent in protective instincts. Had you known that about him, you would coach him differently.” How would you parent your child if you knew your child better?
