Jesus once said to his disciples, “In the world you will have tribulation” (John 16:33). He spoke then of tribulation in a general sense. But there’s coming a time when tribulation will strike this earth like never before. Jesus referred to it as a “great tribulation, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again” (Matt. 24:21).

What hope do we have in light of the coming tribulation? How long will it last? And can we escape the time known in Bible prophecy as Jacob’s trouble?

Faith not fear is the proper response to Jesus’s end time prophecies. “Take heart,” he says, “I have overcome the world.”
