Cathryn and I will never forget the days our kids were born. For some time we struggled to start a family, at times wondering whether God would ever bless us with a child.

When He finally did, we gave thanks and rejoiced in the way that many parents do, posting a blue sign in the front yard of our house that read, “It’s a boy!” and later a pink one that read, “It’s a girl!” However, over the years we have mused about a sign that also reads, “It’s a parent!”

It’s not always apparent to parents and grandparents how to raise kids who love God. That’s why what’s needed now more than ever is some plain talk from the B-I-B-L-E.
