Four words gave Abram all the reassurance he needed when fear gripped his soul. The Lord said to him, “I am your shield” (Gen. 15:1). Are you facing a difficult battle right now? Do you need a shield to cover and protect you?

It takes faith to believe God is your shield―your practical defense against the invisible powers of darkness. The weapons we fight with are not carnal; they are spiritual and mighty to tear down everything that assaults the child of God.

When you dress for spiritual battle, don’t forget to take up the shield of faith. Faith cancels out fear and shelters us from the flaming arrows of the evil one.
