He is the first called among Jesus’s disciples, a manly fisherman like his brother and a former disciple of John the Baptist. Because he told his brother, “We have found the Messiah!” (John 1:35-42), missiologists refer to him as the first home missionary. He was also crucified for his faith in Jesus Christ.

I am talking about Andrew, the disciple of Jesus who always stood in the shadow of his brother Simon Peter, the bombastic fisherman. Andrew was quieter, but he was always connecting people to Jesus, starting with a member of his own family.

Are you a missionary to people in your own home? Your family might be the toughest mission field, but it’s the place to start with the gospel.

That part about Andrew really got me thinking. He didn’t chase fame like Peter, just quietly brought people to Jesus, even his own brother. Kinda like how real change starts small, right at home.
