Hidden Treasure

Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is “like a treasure hidden in a field” and “like a merchant in search of fine pearls” (Matthew 13:43-44). We certainly can’t buy our way into heaven. But nothing in life is of greater value than the kingdom of heaven and the search for wisdom.

 

Wise Solomon conveyed the same idea to his sons, saying, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight” (Proverbs 4:7). He also told his sons, “If you search for [wisdom] as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God” (Proverbs 2:4-5). 

 

Are you a treasure hunter? In Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3).
