Hell and Unbearable Regret
Bruxism describes the act of grinding, gnashing, or clenching your teeth. Severe bruxism is brought on by emotional trauma, anxiety, stress, anger, frustration, or tension and can cause various disorders.
In every one of the places where Jesus mentions the outer darkness of hell, He also says, “In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” This is evidence of consciousness in the afterlife; however, it’s the kind of awareness you’d rather not possess.
I can hardly imagine the full weight of realization that will seize the unbeliever when he understands hell is his eternal home. Unbearable regret and the memory of lost opportunities to repent will make him grind his teeth and clench his jaw.
