Happy Birthday, Church!

Happy birthday! This birthday party is for the church of Jesus Christ that was born nearly two thousand years ago on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem, fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

No party hats and streamers. Instead, the Holy Spirit arrived in tongues of fire and baptized the early followers of Jesus into the body of Christ. Devout men and women from every nation under heaven were bewildered because they were hearing the preaching of the gospel in their own language—a supernatural event, indeed.

Peter preached and three thousand people came to faith in Jesus Christ that day—three thousand people born into the family of God. Can you remember your spiritual birthday!
