My friend, Brian, traveled the open road on U.S. Route 66 with his father. They meandered the western two-thirds of the United States from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. They got their kicks on Route 66!

Brian showed me a box of memorabilia he picked up along the way, including some Route 66 postcards, which remind me of two New Testament epistles penned by the Apostle John.

Second and Third John are short enough to fit on a postcard. But don’t let their brevity fool you. They contain enough theological octane to fill your tank full of gospel fuel. They will also challenge you to reject false doctrine by walking in truth, love, obedience, generosity, and hospitality. Are you ready for some gospel fuel?
