What’s in a name? More than we know if it’s God’s name. In the Bible, God reveals Himself to us by many divine names, most notably His Christmas names.

Four of God’s seven Christmas names are found in Isaiah 9:6, an Old Testament messianic prophecy. I’m talking about Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Three more of His yuletide names appear in the gospels. Have you heard of Emmanuel, which means “God with us,” Logos, and, of course, Jesus, the name the angel told Joseph to give Mary’s child?

This Christmas, get to know God by His Christmas names. Doing so makes the celebration of our Savior’s birth even more meaningful.
