“Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).

Jude calls for our response to a theological four-alarm fire! He penned a different letter than what he intended to write, urging his readers to “contend for the faith,” meaning “to struggle in opposition, to strive in debate; dispute earnestly.”  

Are you clear-eyed about the gospel of Jesus Christ? Do you know biblical Christianity well enough to recognize false teaching when you hear it? How many alarms must sound before you grasp the seriousness of a catastrophic theological fire and contend for the Christian faith?
