How would you define happiness? Many famous and accomplished people have tried to capture the essence of a blissful state of being. 

For example, Albert Schweitzer said, "Happiness is nothing more than health and a poor memory." A poet named Robert Frost said, "Happiness makes up in height for what it lacks in length." Abraham Lincoln said, "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." 

I like the definition Jesus gave two thousand years ago on a hillside overlooking the Sea of Galilee. He began eight simple but sublime beatitudes with the word blessed meaning supreme happiness. He went on to suggest the truly happy person is the one who follows Christ and is just like him.
