“The saying is trustworthy,” writes the apostle Paul to Timothy, “for if we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless (get ready for this!), he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself” (2 Timothy 2:11-13).

 

God is so committed to His own trustworthiness that if we are faithless, He remains faithful. Faithfulness is a supremely divine quality and a fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians chapter five, making faithfulness an attribute we share with God if we live by the Spirit.

 

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father. There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
