Less than twenty years after Jesus’s earthly life and ministry, the Apostle Paul arrived in Thessalonica, a prominent seaport and capital of the Roman province in Macedonia.

For three consecutive Sabbaths, Paul “reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, ‘This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ’” (Acts 17:3). Many people responded positively to the gospel, including some of the city’s leading women, devout Greeks, and Jews. But others rejected Paul’s gospel message.

By proclaiming King Jesus, Paul and his missionary church planting team became known as men who “turned the world upside down.” Is your faith turning the world upside down?
