Mary’s Song of Christmas Praise

By Dr. Ron Jones

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed” (Luke 1:46-48).

What would it take for you to burst out into a song of praise as Mary did months before she gave birth to the Savior of the world? A new and glorious morn’ gave rise in her spirit, and it can in yours, too. Christmastime is here. Hope is born and his name is Jesus.

“For he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him, from generation to generation” (v. 49-50).

Reflection Question

Consider the great things God has done for you and make a list. How does this change your attitude and perspective in life?

“Every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”
