Warfare Prayer, Part 2

Did you know that your prayers could be hindered? Prayer can move mountains. But there are a handful of hindrances that can make your prayer life an uphill climb. Today, Ron covers these barriers to prayer next, as he wraps up his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Warfare Prayer, Part 1

In Ephesians chapter six, the Apostle Paul tells us about the armor of God. There are six pieces in all, each uniquely crafted to help us win the invisible war with Satan. In just a few moments here on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us to the end of Ephesians chapter six, to the point where we’re fully dressed and ready for battle, to explain the critical role prayer plays in holding everything together. Today’s message comes your way next. Stay with us now for Ron’s continuing series, “Armored: Dressed For Victory In Spiritual Warfare.”

Picking Up the Sword of the Spirit, Part 2

Think of temptation as hand-to-hand combat with Satan. When the time comes, it’s a good idea to have a sword in your hand.  Not only does God want you to have the sword of the spirit in your hand, He wants you to have it in your heart. Today, Ron explains the importance of this vital piece of battle gear, as he continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed For Victory In Spiritual Warfare.

Picking Up the Sword of the Spirit, Part 1

I’m sure you’ve been told to never bring a knife to a gunfight. Our adversary, the devil, comes out with guns blazing every single day. His tactics are well-planned, his bullets well-aimed, his soldiers well-trained. Today, you’ll learn about the most powerful weapon we can use in this battle. The saying is true, you should never bring a knife to a gunfight. Instead, bring a sword. Today’s message is part of Ron’s teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare,” and it comes your way next.

Putting On the Helmet of Salvation, Part 2

And be not conformed to the image of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Those words from Romans twelve, verse two, tell us that as our mind is renewed through time in God’s Word and in prayer, it has the power to transform us, and to prevent us from the enemies’ attempt to poison our minds with his lies. Ron has more next, as he continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Putting On the Helmet of Salvation, Part 1

If you’re a believer in Christ, you’ve been given a sound mind. Satan knows this, but that doesn’t stop him from attacking our minds anyway. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones introduces us to a critical piece of battle gear, one designed to protect our minds from the onslaught of enemy attacks.

Picking Up the Shield of Faith, Part 2

Satan will use fear to diminish or weaken your faith. But that’s not his only tactic. In addition to fear, the enemy will use worry and doubt to attack our faith in Christ. Today, Ron explains how to defend ourselves against these enemy attacks, and how we can not only maintain our faith, but increase it. Stay with us here as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Picking Up the Shield of Faith, Part 1

Habakkuk two, verse four tells us that the righteous man shall live by faith. Faith is the greatest necessity of the Christian life … a critical component of our salvation in Christ. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones talks in depth about the shield of faith, as moves ahead in his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Putting On Your Gospel Shoes, Part 2

And, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness of the gospel of peace. That’s Ephesians six, fifteen, and this is Something Good Radio. Well, there’s no need to make peace unless we’re at war. And as believers in Christ, we are. How can the shoes of the Gospel of Peace help us win this battle? Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Putting On Your Gospel Shoes, Part 1

Some years ago there was a Nike commercial in which one of the actors, seeing just how talented Michael Jordan was, said, “It’s gotta be the shoes.” Well, as the commercial says, shoes are a critical component to any athletic endeavor. Critical to any war. And as you’ll see today, our shoes are every bit as critical in our spiritual war against Satan.

Putting On the Breastplate of Righteousness, Part 2

It’s one thing to know who you are. But do you know who you are in Christ? Well, sometimes we believe what others think about us, or maybe what we think about ourselves. But rather than buy into what people think, how about believing what God says.  Today’s message is straight ahead.

Putting On the Breastplate of Righteousness, Part 1

The day is coming when Satan will be overthrown once and for all. But for now, he is the prince of this world, continually accusing believers in Christ of being undeserving of God’s mercy. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones tells us how to combat our adversary, the accuser. Stay with us now as he continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed For Victory In Spiritual Warfare,”

Putting On the Belt of Truth, Part 2

Jesus had this to say about our adversary, the devil. “When he lies, he speaks from his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Well, how do we combat the lies of the enemy? We start by putting on the belt of truth. Ron dives into the subject next, as he continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed For Victory In Spiritual Warfare.”

Putting On the Belt of Truth, Part 1

There are tool belts, fan belts and weightlifting belts. There’s even a Bible belt. But on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones, you’ll hear about a different kind of belt, the belt of truth. When you read about the armor of God in Ephesians chapter six, the very first piece of armor is the belt of truth. How can this piece of battle gear help you in your invisible war with Satan? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory In Spiritual Warfare.”

Unmasking the Schemes of the Devil, Part 2

How can you tell when Satan has invaded your life? He’ll bring deception, he’ll bring doubt, he’ll bring division, and he’ll bring discouragement. Are you discouraged today? If so, the devil is the one who brought it to you. Ron shows you how to deal with this scheme of Satan next, as he continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed For Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Unmasking the Schemes of the Devil, Part 1

The first step to winning any war is knowing you’re in one. The second step, know your enemy. One of the problems with your adversary, the devil, is that he doesn’t want to be known. He lurks in the shadows, and when he does come out, he masks himself as an angel of light. But whether he wants to be known or not, we can know him. Dr. Ron Jones tells you how today right here on Something Good, as he continues his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

The Invisible War, Part 2

If God is for us, who can be against us? That’s Romans eight, thirty-one, and this is Something Good. Well, that’s a rhetorical question. If God is for us, and He is, then no one can be against us. But that doesn’t stop the Devil from trying everything he can to steal, kill and destroy.

The Invisible War, Part 1

It’s been said that the greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world he didn’t exist. The problem is, he does exist. He’s invisible, but very real, and his sole purpose is to destroy your relationship with God. How can we overcome his tactics and find victory? Answers come your way next on Something Good, as Dr. Ron Jones kicks off his teaching series, “Armored: Dressed for Victory in Spiritual Warfare.”

Hope for the Downcast Soul, Part 2

What if I told you that you could tell your emotions how to feel? Believe it or not, that’s what the writer of Psalm forty-three did. He went down into the depths of his inner being to tell his emotions exactly how to feel. How can you learn to live that way? Find out next, as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living And Loving From A Healthy Soul.”

Hope for the Downcast Soul, Part 1

Are you sad and depressed today? Is your soul cast down? If you’re in need of comfort and encouragement, the book of Psalms, the Hebrew Songbook, is one of the best places to go. Today, Ron takes you to Psalms forty-two and forty-three to help you rediscover the joy God wants to give you. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving From A Healthy Soul.”

The Emotionally Healthy Jesus, Part 2

When you consider the sin of this world and the growing rebellion against God, you have a choice. You can get mad at the darkness, or you can be the light. We’re all emotional beings, to one degree or another, we’re all passionate about something. Jesus was particularly passionate about the lost. He grieved them so deeply that He served them all His life before laying down His life for their sake. Today, Ron challenges you to ask the Lord to help you have that kind of genuine passion for the lost. Stay with us now as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving From a Healthy Soul.”

The Emotionally Healthy Jesus, Part 1

Emotions are not a bad thing in and of themselves. But we get into trouble when we allow our feelings to dictate our behavior. So, what does it look like to be emotionally healthy? The place to start is by looking at the life of Jesus. That’s exactly where we’re headed next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving From a Healthy Soul.”

How Jesus Cared for His Soul, Part 2

How to exercise “Soul Care” on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. During His life on Earth, Jesus took care of His soul in four distinct ways. But He was doing more than looking out for Himself, He was showing us how to take care of our souls. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving From a Healthy Soul.”

How Jesus Cared for His Soul, Part 1

You may exercise regularly and eat healthy to take care of your body. But what’s the best way to take care of your soul? Today, Ron wants to help you learn how to practice what he calls, “soul care.” He’ll take you to several passages of Scripture that explain how to care for your soul. He’ll also show you how Jesus cared for His own soul. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving From a Healthy Soul.”

The Total Human Being, Part 4

Coming up next, Ron explains how to live and love from a healthy mind, a healthy body, and a healthy heart. Now from his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living And Loving From A Healthy Soul,” here’s Ron with part four of his Something Good Radio message, “The Total Human Being.”

The Total Human Being, Part 3

The Christian life is made up of two distinct components. Salvation, a one-time event in which your soul is eternally saved. And sanctification, a lifetime process in which you’re continually learning how to honor God with your mind, heart, and body. Over the past couple of days, Ron has talked in depth about the salvation of our soul, the most critical decision we’ll ever make. But once it’s been made, once our soul is saved and healthy, it’s time to address the other parts of our being mind, heart, and body. Today, Ron shows you how to honor God in these three areas as he continues his teaching series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving from A Healthy Soul.”

The Total Human Being, Part 2

Consider the words of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark chapter eight, verses thirty-six and thirty-seven, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in return for his soul?” Well, the questions Jesus raised here in Mark’s Gospel were--of course--rhetorical. There is nothing on Earth more valuable than the human soul. It’s not something we have, it’s what we are, the very essence of our being. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “Inside Out: Living and Loving From A Healthy Soul.”

The Total Human Being, Part 1

Money. Power. Looks. Fame. The world focuses primarily on the external. But God tells us that life with Him must be lived from the inside out. So, what does it mean to have an inside-out perspective on life?  How do we go about living that way? Ron dives into these and other candid questions next, as he launches his brand-new teaching series, “Inside Out: Living And Loving From A Healthy Soul.”

Faith, Relationships, and Hospitality, Part 2

You are loved beyond your failures. You are loved beyond your past. God’s love for you is unconditional. No matter your mistakes or failures, you are loved beyond measure, and He who began a good work in you shall bring it to completion.

Faith, Relationships, and Hospitality, Part 1

It’s impossible to start praying and never stop. You’ve got to work. You’ve got to raise the kids. You’ve got to sleep. So what does it mean when the Apostle Paul tells us to pray without ceasing? What should the prayer life of a mature believer in Christ look like? Find out next on today’s Something Good, as Dr. Ron Jones continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

Christ in the Home and Work, Part 2

Today, Ron paints a beautiful picture of biblical marriage, and he takes us to a Texas dance floor to do it.  Stay right here as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than,”

Christ in the Home and Work, Part 1

God longs to see your marriage flourish. But what does a healthy marriage look like? What does it mean to submit to your husband, or to love your wife as Christ loved the church? Find out next on today’s Something Good, as Dr. Ron Jones continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

Putting On Your New Self, Part 2

God doesn’t love you because of. He loves you in spite of. If you think you have to perform well to earn God’s love, Ron invites you to think again. Stay tuned for an encouraging word about the unlimited, unconditional love of God, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

Putting On Your New Self, Part 1

Are you dressed for spiritual success? Before you can put on the garments that lead to spiritual success, you may have to take off a few things. Ron tells you all about this wardrobe change next, as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

Your New Identity in Christ, Part 2

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. Let me ask you, are you seeking the kingdom of God above all else? Today, Ron reminds us that it is those who think most of the next world that do the most good in this one.

Your New Identity in Christ, Part 1

I’ve got some good news for you today. You’re not defined by what people think you are, but by what God says you are.  What exactly does God say about you? Find out next, on today’s edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Stay with us now as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus is Greater Than.”

The Real Substance of Your Faith, Part 2

You may already be familiar with the term “legalism.” But what about mysticism, or asceticism? Each of these can be an obstacle to our Christian faith, and to our spiritual growth. Exactly what do these terms mean, and how will we know them when we see them? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

The Real Substance of Your Faith, Part 1

Is your faith in Christ steadily growing? Or has it become stale and stagnant? Today, Ron wants to help you get out of the shallow end of the faith pool, so that you can dive into the deep waters of your relationship with Christ. Along the way, he’ll share some of the obstacles to genuine spiritual growth.

The Deep Roots of Your Faith, Part 2

As a believer in Christ, you are hidden in Christ. But have you ever thought about what that means? All of us who are hidden in Christ have been set free from the wages of sin, which is eternal death. But as you’ll see today, this relationship with Jesus is not limited to the hereafter, it includes the here and now.

The Deep Roots of Your Faith, Part 1

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen automatically. You have to make a decision to get out of the shallow and into the depths of the Christian faith. The question is how. Once you decide to grow deep roots in your faith, how do you go about it. That’s the question Ron asks and answers today on Something Good, as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

The Mystery of Christ in You, Part 2

Because Christ now lives in you, how should you then live? Coming up next, Ron shares four ways in which your life should reflect the power of Jesus Christ living in you. One of them may surprise you, but all of them will bless you. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus is Greater Than.”

The Mystery of Christ in You, Part 1

Everybody loves a good mystery, and Dr. Ron Jones has one for you on this Monday edition of Something Good. Well, if you’re a believer in Jesus Christ, the Bible says that He now lives in you. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Colossians to help solve this great mystery, as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

The Image of the Invisible God, Part 2

Here’s some good news for all those who are believers in Christ. When God looks at you, He sees Jesus. Colossians three, three tells us that all believers in Christ have died and their lives are now hidden in Christ with God. Today, Ron takes a deep dive into the idea of our new life in Christ as he continues his series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

The Image of the Invisible God, Part 1

Turn up the volume and put on your thinking cap. Because Dr. Ron Jones is about to take a deep dive into the identity and nature of Jesus Christ. The name Jesus Christ is far more than just a name. It’s a title. It points directly to His ability to save mankind from the penalty of sin. Ron has more coming your way next, as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

How to Pray for Others, Part 2

The joy God can give you does not depend on your circumstances. It exists in spite of them. The Apostle Paul wrote the book of Colossians from a Roman prison cell, and yet his letter is filled with patience and grace for the believers there. He encouraged them to endure life’s trials without letting those trials steal their joy. Today, Ron challenges you to do the same.

How to Pray for Others, Part 1

Prayer is a mystery to a lot of people. But the Bible gives us some guidance on how to pray for ourselves and for others, including people we’ve never even met. Dr. Ron Jones shares some of insights next on today’s edition of Something Good. Stay with us as he continues his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus is Greater Than.”

The Fruit of the Gospel in You, Part 2

The Bible tells us that Jesus was full of both grace and truth. As fallen human beings, we usually err on one side or the other, but Jesus was all of both. What can we learn from the life of Christ about this delicate balance between grace and truth? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series “Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than.”

The Fruit of the Gospel in You, Part 1

Some two thousand years ago, false teaching began to surface in the church at Colossae. So the Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Colossians to address those heretical ideas. What were these false teachings, and how does Paul’s letter apply to us today? Find out next, as Ron begins his teaching series, “Colossians: Jesus is Greater Than.”

The Keys to Unlocking Answered Prayer, Part 2

What if I told you that God doesn’t always hear your prayers? Well, it’s true, sometimes God doesn’t hear our prayers. And sometimes He hears them, but refuses to answer them. Today, Ron shares a message that just might help revolutionize your prayer life. Stay with us now as he wraps up his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Keys to Unlocking Answered Prayer, Part 1

Have you ever poured out your heart to God and felt like He might not even be listening? Believe it or not, there are times when God won’t hear our prayers, and other times when He won’t answer them. The good news is, there’s a way to make sure our prayers are getting through to Him. Today, Ron takes us through the four categories of prayer, as well as some of the hindrances to answered prayer.

The Jesus Way to Pray for Protection, Part 2

We’re not sinners because we sin; we sin because we’re sinners. In a fallen, sinful world, Jesus is our only hope. Through faith in Him, we gain eternal life, an unbreakable relationship with God. But in the meantime, we still sin, which frustrates our fellowship with God. Today, Ron takes a look at the four stages of temptation, and the four solutions to temptation, as he wraps up his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray for Protection, Part 1

“And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” That’s Matthew six, thirteen, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. The Christian life is a battle against an unseen enemy. Purveyors of darkness that are not only powerful, but highly organized. Just how formidable are these forces of evil? What are their strengths and limitations? Ron shares a few answers next, as he continues his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray for Pardon, Part 2

It’s been said that resentment is like swallowing poison and expecting the other person to die. One of the foundational principles of Christ’s teaching is that we are called to forgive others. When we don’t, we’re only hurting ourselves, and the damage might be far worse than you think. Today, Ron takes us to a familiar parable that reminds us just how seriously God takes forgiveness.

The Jesus Way to Pray for Pardon, Part 1

When you ask God to forgive your debt, you might be asking Him for more than you think. You know, many of us are so used to debt that we almost take it for granted. But when it comes to the debt we owe God, it’s a grave situation, because the debt we owe Him is our life, both in this world and the next. Today, Ron takes an in-depth look at the debt we owe and at God’s debt forgiveness plan, as he continues his series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray for Provision, Part 2

When Jesus taught us to pray “give us this day our daily bread,” He was talking about more than what we have for breakfast! Anytime we pray, including when we say the Lord’s Prayer, we’re declaring our dependence on God. And this phrase, "give us this day our daily bread," refers not only to the food that feeds the body, but food that nourishes the soul. Ron helps us better understand this truth today, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray for Provision, Part 1

Every good gift and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. You may already be in the habit of thanking God for your food. But how often do you ask Him to provide it? James one, verse seventeen, reminds us that God is a generous God, and that every good thing we have comes from Him, including our next meal. Stay with us now as Ron continues in his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray with Priority, Part 2

“Nevertheless, not My will but thine be done.” Jesus spoke those words in the Garden of Gethsemane … on the night before He was brutally tortured and crucified. And when He prayed that prayer, He was modeling for us what He taught us to pray in Matthew chapter six. Thy will be done. Today, Ron examines the decreed will of God, and the desired will of God, as he moves forward in his series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray with Priority, Part 1

Do you want to know what your priorities are? Take a good look at your bank statement. Jesus was a man with great power, uncommon passion, and a charismatic presence. But He was also a man of priority. He lived that way, and—in Matthew chapter six—He taught us to pray that way. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray with Praise, Part 2

If you’ve been saved by faith in God the Son, then God the Father is also Your Father. Through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we can boldly approach the throne of God and call Him “Father.” But, as you’ll hear today, His name is still hallowed, and we’re called to respect and revere Him accordingly. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray with Praise, Part 1

One of the most beautiful things about the Lord’s Prayer is found in the first two words, "Our Father." Jesus could have said, “My Father.” Instead, He said Our Father, and, in doing so, He invited all mankind to address Almighty God in this way. Today, Ron takes an in-depth look at the first stanza of the Lord’s Prayer, with special emphasis on these first two words—what they meant to the original audience, and what they mean for you and me today.

The Jesus Way Not to Pray, Part 2

A passionate and effective prayer life is not built on repetition, but on relationship. There’s nothing wrong with having a conversation with God in which you praise Him more than once, or thank Him more than once, or make the same request more than once. But more than anything, prayer is about developing a deep, intimate relationship with the God who already knows your needs. Stay with us today as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way Not to Pray, Part 1

One of the best ways to learn to do something right, is to see what it looks like to do it wrong. In Matthew chapter six, Jesus gave us a template for talking to God, what you and I know as the Lord’s Prayer. But before He told us how to pray, He told us how not to pray. Ron takes us to this passage next, as he continues his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray with Passion, Part 2

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” That’s James five, sixteen, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. When James talks about fervent prayer, he’s encouraging us to pray with unbridled passion. Is that how you pray? If not, what would it take for you to start? Today, Ron offers some biblical insight into the power and necessity of a passionate prayer life, as he continues in his series, “The Jesus Way To Pray.”

The Jesus Way to Pray with Passion, Part 1

It’s true that prayer is our way of communicating with God. But it’s so much more than that. Coming your way next, Ron kicks off his teaching series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.” And he begins with a touching story from the world of professional sports, one in which prayer, and the passion behind it, became a major part of the media narrative.

God Leads Us Along, Part 2

Proverbs fourteen, verse twelve, says “there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is a way to death.” If the way you thought was right turns out to be wrong, how can you make things right again? You do it by obeying the Holy Spirit. Ron tells you how to do just that next, as we continue "The Best of 2023."

God Leads Us Along, Part 1

Have you ever been stuck in a rut? Are you stuck in one now? Dr. Ron Jones wants to help you get out.  You know, sheep will often keep going back to the same grazing location until there’s nothing left for them to eat. And even then they’ll keep going back. Sounds a bit like what we’ve all done from time to time, repeating the same mistakes over and over, even after the thrill was gone. But there is good news for anyone who has ever wandered away from God and gotten stuck in this kind of rut. Ron shares that good news next, as we continue "The Best of 2023."

Hope for Cast Down Sheep, Part 2

You can restore a piece of furniture, a musical instrument or even a house. But only God can restore a soul. Psalm twenty-three, verse three begins with these four words, "He restores my soul." Today, Ron takes an in-depth look at what this restoration process looks like as we continue the "Best of 2023."

Hope for Cast Down Sheep, Part 1

If you’ve ever made a mistake from which you thought you’d never recover, if you’ve ever wandered so far away from God you weren’t sure how to get back, Dr. Ron Jones has some good news for you today. The first phrase of Psalm twenty-three, verse three, says “He restores my soul.” Today, Ron shows us what that restoration looks like, how a merciful, forgiving, loving God offers hope and healing, even to those who have gone astray. And at one time or another, we’ve all gone astray.

Jesus

“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus”. Thanks for spending part of this great and glorious day here with us. Well, Jesus is known by many names, and for the past several days Ron has taken an in-depth look at six of them. But he may well have saved the best for last, it’s the name, “Jesus,”and what a beautiful name it is! Stay with us now as Ron wraps up his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Emmanuel

“The virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, meaning God with us.” When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, it wasn’t merely a child being born. It was God Himself choosing to live on Earth with us, so that one day, we might live in heaven with Him. Today, Ron takes a look at just what this name “Emmanuel” means for you and me, as he continues his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Logos

Here’s what John chapter one tells us about the Incarnation of Jesus. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelled among us.” The idea that Jesus was fully divine and yet fully human at the same time is a hard concept to grasp. Some would say it’s impossible. But that shouldn’t stop us from trying! Coming up next, Ron talks at length about the dual nature of Jesus, both His divinity as well as His humanity, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Prince of Peace, Part 2

Through faith in Christ, you can have peace in your heart. But one day Jesus will bring about a peace on Earth unlike anything we’ve ever seen. The Book of Revelation talks about the Millennial reign of Christ, a one-thousand-year period in which He will establish His kingdom on Earth. It will be a time of unprecedented peace, ushered in by the Prince of Peace. Stay with us now to learn more about this future kingdom, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Prince of Peace, Part 1

For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given. And He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. That’s Isaiah nine, six, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Today, Ron continues his important teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.” There are seven names in all, and today we come to number four on the list, the “Prince of Peace.”

Everlasting Father, Part 2

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. But what does that really mean? The truth is Jesus had no beginning and He will have no end. He always was and forever will be. Ron unpacks this idea for us next, as he continues his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Everlasting Father, Part 1

Some are absent. Others are violent. Some try hard but fail all too often. But there’s one Father who never fails. It’s no secret that we have a fatherhood problem here in America, one that often leads to a host of other societal issues. But Ron has some good news for us today. God has promised to be a father to the fatherless. He’s a good father, a perfect father, and best of all, He’s an everlasting Father. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Mighty God

Behold, God is mighty and does not despise any. He is mighty in strength and wisdom. That’s Job thirty-six, five, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Every protagonist in literature, every superhero in comic books and movies, has at least one weakness.  Superman is made weak by kryptonite. Batman is limited by his own human nature. But Jesus has no tragic flaws. He has no flaws, period. He is mighty in works, mighty in wisdom, mighty, even in His mercy and compassion. He is truly the only Superhero who has ever lived. Coming your way next, Ron takes an in-depth look at this aspect of our Lord’s character, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Wonderful Counselor, Part 2

God is known by many names. One of them is Wonderful Counselor. If ever the world needed Divine Counsel, it’s now.  And God is always willing and able to share it. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Wonderful Counselor, Part 1

Down through the ages, God has been known by many names. Dr. Ron Jones takes us through a few of them next, on today’s edition of Something Good. The names of God are not mere titles or labels. They’re a reflection of who He is, His character and nature. Coming up next, Ron takes us to the book of Isaiah to identify seven names associated with the birth of Christ. Stay with us now as he kicks off his teaching series, “Knowing God by His Christmas Names.”

Peace On Earth, Part 2

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men. Well, the world cannot always be at peace.  But you can. No matter what’s going on around you, you can always have peace within you. But there’s only one way to get it, and only one person who can give it.

Peace On Earth, Part 1

Glory to God in the highest; and on Earth, peace, good will towards men. Well, Ron has some good news for you today as he continues his teaching series, “The Gifts of Christmas.” You don’t have to fight the crowds or the traffic to get the gifts God has for you.  He’ll deliver them right to your front door.

Joy to the World, Part 2

One depends on circumstances. The other can exist in spite of them. The difference between happiness and joy, on this Thursday edition of Something Good. What if I told you that joy is something you can choose? A gift from God, freely given, and you can have it simply by deciding to. Today, Ron talks about the difference between joy and happiness as he continues his series, “The Gifts of Christmas.”

Joy to the World, Part 1

God has given us four wonderful gifts through His Son Jesus Christ. The first is His love, and in our last message, Ron gave us some great insight into that special gift. Today, he moves on to gift number two, the joy that only comes to those who believe in Jesus.

God So Loved, Part 2

Nothing can keep you from the love of God, not even your own mistakes. The love of God is something we’ll never fully comprehend on this side of heaven. It’s incomprehensible, immeasurable, inseparable, and best of all, it’s unconditional. Today, Ron explores God’s unconditional love as he continues his series, “The Gifts of Christmas.”

God So Loved, Part 1

For God so loved the world that He gave. Christmas is a time of giving, and it began more than two thousand years ago with God’s greatest gift to us, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Today, Ron begins his teaching series, “The Gifts of Christmas,” an in-depth look at four of the greatest gifts God offers all those who come to faith in Christ.

Defeating Greed, Part 2

In Ecclesiastes five, verse ten, King Solomon write, “He who loves money never has money enough.” Consider the negative impact of greed. It can divide churches, ruin families, and severely impact your fellowship with God. Today, Ron tells us how we can defeat this deadly sin as we wraps up his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Greed, Part 1

It is not money, but the love of money, that is the root of all kinds of evil. Well, for the past two weeks, Ron has taken us on a journey through the first six of the seven deadly sins. Pride. Anger. Lust. Laziness. Gluttony. Envy. Today, we come to the seventh and final one on the list, greed. God’s Word has much to say about this dangerous vice, and the corresponding virtue that we can use to defeat it. Ron takes us there next, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Envy, Part 2

Every vice has a corresponding virtue, one that can help you overcome the sins that drag you down. Today Ron takes us once again to the deadly sin of envy, a vice that can lead to all sorts of larger problems, including murder, adultery and idolatry. What virtue we can use to defeat the deadly sin of envy?  Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Envy, Part 1

In James chapter four, verse two, we read these sobering words. “You envy and cannot obtain, so you quarrel and fight." Well, today Ron takes us to the sixth of the seven deadly sins, envy. It stirs up untold amounts of strife, in relationships … in the church, and as we’ve seen for the past few months, it can divide our society at large. How can we overcome this deadly sin?  Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins that Drag You Down.”

Defeating Gluttony, Part 2

Self-indulgence is the enemy of self-denial, and the enemy of Christian discipleship. Those aren’t my words. They’re the words of Dr. Ron Jones, lead pastor at Atlantic Shores Baptist Church in Virginia Beach Virginia. Well, the world preaches self-improvement and self-indulgence. Jesus taught self-denial and self-restraint. Today, Ron sets the table for us on how to overcome the deadly sin of gluttony.

Defeating Gluttony, Part 1

You may think of gluttony as being addicted to eating too much. But there’s far more to it than that. The Bible has plenty to say about gluttony. And when it does, it always includes words of caution about drunkenness. The word gluttony not only excessive eating, but excessive drinking. Ron digs in to the subject of gluttony today, as he continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins that Drag You Down.”

Defeating Laziness, Part 2

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come on you like a robber, and want like an armed man.” That’s Proverbs twenty-four, verses thirty-three and thirty-four. Being lazy may seem harmless enough … certainly not as destructive as anger, pride or lust. But there’s a reason slothfulness finds its way into this list of the seven deadly sins. Ron tells us all about it next, as he continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Laziness, Part 1

Today, we come to the fourth of the seven deadly sins, laziness. At first blush, laziness doesn’t seem to be all that problematic. Certainly not at destructive as pride, anger or lust, the first three deadly sins. But as you’ll see during the next half hour or so, perpetual laziness brings with it some rather severe consequences.

Defeating Lust, Part 2

And Jesus said, “If your right eye causes you to stumble, tear it out and throw it away.” What did Jesus mean by those words? Are we to take them literally? Ron has answers next, as he continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Lust, Part 1

“You have heard it said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Well, Jesus gave a lot of hard sayings during His life and ministry. The one you just heard was one of the hardest. What did He mean? What are the implications for you and me?  Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Anger, 2

That which begins in the heart can only be overcome through a change of heart. Anger is like that. It begins in our hearts and, if not kept in check, can lead to angry words, angry actions, or both. To help us overcome this deadly sin, Ron takes us to the words of Jesus as continues his series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Anger, 1

The Bible tells us to “be angry, but do not sin.” The question is, how do we do it? Well, even talking about anger can sometimes make us mad. But as you’ll see over the next twenty minutes or so, there is a way to manage anger without sinning. There’s even a way to overcome it once and for all. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Pride, Part 2

He was the greatest person who ever lived.  He was also the most humble. Jesus, without blemish, without sin, the only begotten Son of God, humbled Himself to the point of death on a cross. Today, Ron shares more about the example of humility Christ gave to us. But first, he points to someone else, a man to whom Jesus gave high praise during His life on Earth. Stay with us here as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming The Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Pride, Part 1

It was Satan himself who was kicked out of heaven because of his pride. And he has been appealing to our own sense of pride ever since. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones reminds us that pride is not only the first of the seven deadly sins. It’s also the deadliest, because it sets the foundation for all the deadly sins that follow. How can we overcome it once and for all?  Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

More Than Conquerors, Part 2

The greatest threats to the victorious Christian life are the world, the flesh and the devil. But because of Christ, we are already more than conquerors over all three. You may not always feel like a conqueror, but you are. Today, Ron shares the biblical proof for that claim, reminding us of who and what we are in Christ.

More Than Conquerors, Part 1

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” That’s Romans eight, thirty-seven, and this is Something Good. Back in the Sixth Century, Pope Gregory the First came up with a list of seven deadly sins. Pride, anger, lust, laziness, gluttony, envy, and greed. For the next couple of weeks Ron will take you through each of them, as he shares his teaching series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins that Drag You Down.”

The Second Chance Miracle, Part 2

Do you need a second chance from God today? He’s more than willing to give it. How badly do you want it. Today, Ron wraps up his series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus,” with a powerful message about God’s mercy. He stands ready and willing to help us rebound from our mistakes, but for that to happen, we have to make a few choices of our own.

The Second Chance Miracle, Part 1

God has a long and storied history of giving His people second chances. Ancient Israel. King David. Jonah. The list goes on. So, if you’re in need of a second chance today, or if you know someone who is, you’ve come to the right place. Stay with us now as Ron continues his series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.”

The Lazarus Miracle, Part 2

If you’re in need of a miracle from God today and it hasn’t come, be patient, He might be waiting to do something even better. Today, Ron continues the story of one of the greatest miracles Jesus ever performed. He could have healed a sick man, but He chose instead to raise a dead man. The series is called, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.”

The Lazarus Miracle, Part 1

Have you ever been disappointed with God? If so, today’s message from Dr. Ron Jones might be just what you need to hear. You know, God’s Word has a lot to say about faith, about trusting in God with all your heart, but sometimes our fallen nature interferes. We place expectations on God, and when He doesn’t come through, we get disappointed. Today, Ron offers some encouragement to anyone who has lived through some of life’s toughest challenges and unanswered prayers.

The Blind Man Miracle, Part 2

I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see. You know, the words to that famous hymn remind us of an infirmity far worse than being unable to see the world around us. It refers to a spiritual blindness, and as you’ll see today, each of us has a role to play in our own deliverance.

The Blind Man Miracle, Part 1

For the past few days, Ron has been walking us through the eight miracles of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. Today, we come to number six on the list. Jesus healed a man who had been blind from birth, but as you’ll see in just a few moments, he wasn’t the only person who had his eyes opened. The series is called, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.”

The Perfect Storm Miracle, Part 2

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Today, Ron takes us once again to the Gospel of John, Chapter 6 and that stormy night on the Sea of Galilee when Jesus walked on water. But someone else defied the laws of physics that night, at least for a moment, until he took his eyes off Jesus. The series is called, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.”

The Perfect Storm Miracle, Part 1

Are you going through one of life’s storms today? God wants you to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. In just a few moments, Ron takes us to John Chapter 6 and one of the most famous miracles of Jesus, the night He walked on water. But as you’ll see today, there was much more to the story than meets the eye.

The Lunch Miracle, Part 2

Have you ever found yourself in an impossible situation, one in which there seemed to be no way out? Today, Ron takes us to John Chapter 6 and one of Christ’s most significant miracles to remind us that with God, there’s always a way out.  It’s all part of his continuing teaching series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus,” and it comes your way next.

The Lunch Miracle, Part 1

Today, we come to the fourth of eight miracles performed by Jesus in the Gospel of John. As you follow along, pay special attention to all that was going on before the miracle took place. This was an especially difficult day for Jesus, but He never let His personal circumstances interfere with His compassion for others.

The Poolside Miracle, Part 2

Sometimes, your deliverance from sin or addiction will come down to one simple question. How bad do you want it? Today, we return to the pool of Bethesda, and to a man who had been infirmed for thirty-eight years. As you follow along, you’ll discover five key steps you need to take towards your own deliverance, so stay with us now as Ron continues his series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.”

The Poolside Miracle, Part 1

Today, Ron continues the story of a man whose son was about to die. He needed a miracle, and he knew just who to see to get it.  Stay right here as Ron continues his teaching series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus”

The Long Distance Miracle, Part 1

Are you facing a crisis? If so, today’s message from Dr. Ron Jones might be just the thing you need to hear. God’s Word has a lot to say about the right way to handle adversity. Today, we’ll meet a man who faced perhaps the biggest crisis of his life. His response is a great reminder for all of us, and it comes your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.”

The Wedding Miracle, Part 2

The miracles of Jesus are often misunderstood. But all of them were done with a specific purpose in mind, one that was relevant both then and now. Today, Ron takes us once again to John Chapter 2 and the wedding at Canaan, and to three practical applications we can take away from the miracle Christ performed there. It’s all part of his continuing series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus,” and it starts right now.

The Wedding Miracle, Part 1

Ron calls it the wedding miracle, the first recorded miracle of Jesus, and according to the Apostle John, the first miracle Jesus ever performed. Today, Ron breaks down the significance of this miracle, as well as some of the controversy surrounding it.

Do You Believe in Miracles? Part 2

He did things no one had ever done. Said things no one had ever heard. He is Jesus Christ, God become man, the Word become flesh. Today, Ron continues his teaching series, “Believe: The Miracles of Jesus.” As you follow along, pay special attention to the underlying purpose for the miracles Jesus performed.

Do You Believe in Miracles? Part 1

What about you? Do you believe in miracles? Today, we begin an exciting journey through the eight miracles of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John. These are called sign miracles, because like a sign, they point to something. In this case, they point to Jesus being the Messiah, the only begotten Son of the Living God.

Navigating the Perfect Storm, Part 2

Today, we come to the conclusion of Ron’s teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.” The Apostle Paul has just endured a violent and life-threatening storm and is headed, at long last, to Rome, to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Navigating the Perfect Storm, Part 1

Are you going through one of life’s storms today? Dr. Ron Jones wants to help you navigate your way through it with courage and grace. Today Ron takes us once again to the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul. As you follow along, you won’t be surprised to learn that he is facing yet another in a long line of challenges. Let’s look closely at the way the apostle handles himself during this storm, as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Allegiance to Christ, Part 2

Hello, and thanks for being here for today’s Something Good Radio message with Dr. Ron Jones. In Acts chapter twenty-six, we find one of the Apostle Paul’s longest recorded speeches. Appearing before King Agrippa, he defends not only his words and actions, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And as usual, the Apostle’s presentation was truthful, but cheerful, gritty but gracious. Ron takes us to this dramatic confrontation next, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Allegiance to Christ, Part 1

In Acts chapter nine, God said the Apostle Paul would one day appear before Gentile governors and kings. More than a quarter century later, that day was finally here. Today Ron takes us to Acts chapter twenty-five, and to the Apostle Paul’s appearance before King Agrippa. It’s all part of our continuing series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace,” and it comes your way next.

A Cheerful Defense of the Gospel, Part 2

In Philippians three, verse ten, the Apostle Paul expresses a desire to share in the suffering of Jesus Christ. And for most of his thirty-five-year ministry, suffering is exactly what Paul endured. Coming up next, Ron takes us to Paul’s appearance before the Jewish Supreme Court. His life is on the line, but rather than defend himself, he defends the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A Cheerful Defense of the Gospel, Part 1

If you were on trial for being a Christian, what would you say? How would you defend yourself? In Acts chapter twenty-two, the Apostle Paul appears before the Jewish Supreme Court, also known as the Sanhedrin. But rather than defend himself, he defends the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And he does it, surprisingly enough, with a cheerful attitude. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Courage Under Pressure, Part 2

You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who faced more pressure during his life and ministry than the Apostle Paul. How did Paul handle outside pressure? What practical lessons can we learn from his response to adversity? Stay with us now to find out, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Courage Under Pressure, Part 1

Anxiety seems to be at an all-time high today. Pressures at work, pressures at home, the pressures of failureand of success. But few people have endured the kind of pressure the Apostle Paul had to face. As Paul neared the end of his ministry, he made his way to Jerusalem to preach the Gospel. Shortly after Paul arrived, he was threatened by the Jews, beaten by the Romans, and finally--after declaring his Roman citizenship--he was allowed to appear before the Sanhedrin. That’s where Ron takes us today, as he continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The High Cost of Following Jesus, Part 2

Here’s what God said about the Apostle Paul in Acts chapter nine:  “I will show him how much he must suffer for My name.” During his thirty-five-year ministry, the Apostle Paul suffered greatly for the cause of Christ. Today, Ron reminds us that we, too, may be asked to make sacrifices, maybe even to endure suffering, for the glory of God and for the advancement of the Gospel. Stay with us now as Ron continues his series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The High Cost of Following Jesus, Part 1

Through the years there have been thousands of books written on self-improvement, but very few on self-denial. Salvation is a free gift from God. But followership, walking in the will of God day by day here on Earth, that’s going to cost you something. Today, Ron takes us once again to the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul, a man who suffered greatly for the cause of Christ. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead with his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Grace and the Race to the Finish Line, Part 2

“But I do not count my life of any value, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” The Apostle Paul said those words to the Ephesian elders in the book of Acts, chapter twenty. It was a farewell address, as many of those present would never see him again. Today, Ron takes us to some of Paul’s final words as he continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Grace and the Race to the Finish Line, Part 1

Grace is more than what God gives us. It’s who He is. If anyone understood the grace of God, it was the Apostle Paul. He experienced it on the road to Damascus, he witnessed it during his ministry, and he wrote about it extensively in his New Testament letters. How does Paul define grace? What’s so amazing about it? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Supernatural Power and Protests: Paul's Third Missionary Journey, Part 2

Coming up next, Ron takes us to the Apostle Paul’s third and final missionary journey. It was a season in which Paul took a bold stand for Christ in the midst of heavy opposition. But it was also a time when the power of God was on full display. Stay with us now as Ron continues in his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Super Natural Power and Protests: Paul's Third Missionary Journey, Part 1

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” The Apostle Paul wrote those words to the church in Rome, a few years before he made it there in person. He penned the letter from Corinth, either during or shortly after his third missionary journey, when God’s power was on full display. Ron gives us an in-depth look at Paul’s third and final mission trip today, as he continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Light in a Dark World, Part 2

Jesus called His church the light of the world.  And He called us to pierce this present darkness, not to avoid it. The Apostle Paul spent eighteen months getting the Corinthian church up and running. That means he didn’t just turn the light on, he left the light on. Today, Ron shares three key lessons from Paul’s time in Corinth, as he continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Light in a Dark World, Part 1

Before America had Las Vegas, ancient Greece had a Sin City of its own. During his thirty-five-year ministry, the Apostle Paul shined the light of Jesus Christ in some very dark places. But none was darker than the city of Corinth. Idolatry, immorality and sexual sin ran rampant. And yet, Paul not only took the Gospel to this den of depravity, he stayed for eighteen months in spite of heavy opposition. It’s a testimony of great faith and perseverance, and Ron takes shares it with you today in his continuing series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The Right Response to God's Word, Part 2

The world may tell you to follow your heart.  But God says the heart is deceitful above all things. It’s true, if we don’t guard our hearts, they’ll lead us straight to trouble. But how do we do it? What does guarding our heart look like? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series on the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul.

The Right Response to God's Word, Part 1

If it were a crime to share your faith in Christ, would there be enough evidence to convict you? The Apostle Paul was no stranger to conflict. He proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever he went, and for that reason he was beaten three times, thrown in prison three times, and stoned at least once. None of that stopped him from sharing his faith. Today, Ron takes us once again to Paul’s life and ministry, as he continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Open and Closed Doors: Paul's Second Missionary Journey, Part 2

When God opens a door, He almost always opens the heart of someone on the other side. The Apostle Paul was no stranger to this truth. God opened doors for him in ministry all the time, and almost without exception, Paul walked through them and helped lead someone to faith in Christ. Coming up next, a wonderful story of faith and redemption from Ron’s teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Open and Closed Doors: Paul's Second Missionary Journey, Part 1

When God closes a door, He doesn’t always open a window. Sometimes He opens a better door. There may not be a better illustration of how God opens some doors and closes others than Paul’s second missionary journey. Plenty of practical lessons for us to learn during this season of Paul’s life, including some of the ways we can know and discern God’s will for our lives. Stay with us now as Ron moves forward in his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The Essential Gospel, Part 2

In the Christian faith, there are certain foundational truths that cannot be compromised. Others are open for debate, but what should those conversations look like? Many churches have adopted what we might call the Augustinian view of Christian doctrine: In the essentials, unity; in the non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, charity. Today, Ron explains what that should look like in the life of the church, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The Essential Gospel, Part 1

The Christian faith is comprised of essential doctrines and non-essential doctrines. The trouble is, we don’t always agree on which ones are which. Well, this is hardly a new problem. Back when the church was just getting its start, there was already some back and forth about the essential Gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s when the Apostle Paul, along with Barnabas, traveled to Jerusalem in hopes of resolving these differences. Ron takes us to the council at Jerusalem next, as he continues his series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Set Apart and Sent Out: Paul's First Missionary Journey, Part 2

When Saul of Tarsus came to faith in Christ, little did he know how much he would suffer for his faith. Today, Ron shares some of the events that took place during the Apostle Paul’s first missionary journey. It’s a story of partnership, persecution and perseverance, and it comes your way next, in Ron’s teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

Set Apart and Sent Out: Paul's First Missionary Journey, Part 1

In a grand display of irony, Saul of Tarsus came to faith in Christ on his way to persecute believers in Christ. God intervened in a miraculous way, striking Saul blind and giving him vision in the process. And what a vision it was. Today, Ron takes us to the Apostle Paul’s first missionary journey, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The Changed Man Who Changed the World, Part 2

Saul was on his way to round up all the Christians he could find and throw them in prison. But a funny thing happened on the road to Damascus. If you’re wondering how Saul of Tarsus made the switch from murderer to missionary, from assassin to apostle, the answer is found in Acts chapter nine. He was reborn that way. Ron takes us to Saul’s conversion next, as he continues his teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

The Changed Man Who Changed the World, Part 1

He spent the early part of his career as a hitman for the Sanhedrin, persecuting the people of God in the name of God. Saul of Tarsus was not alone. In the early days of the church, he was one of many religious leaders who wanted to stamp out what they believed to be heresy. Over the next few weeks, Ron does a deep dive into the life of Saul, from his early years terrorizing Christians, to his miraculous transformation, and finally, to his faithful ministry as the Apostle Paul. Stay with us now as Ron kicks off his brand-new teaching series, “Paul: Surprised by Grace.”

What Jesus Said About Hell, Part 2

It is appointed to man once to die, and--after that—the judgment. That’s Hebrews nine, twenty-seven, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. At the end of days, there will be not one, but two separate judgments. The Great White Throne Judgment, and The Judgment Seat of Christ. What will these judgments look like, and who will be judged?  Ron has answers today as he wraps up his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

What Jesus Said About Hell, Part 1

Ever wonder why people say they don’t believe in Heaven? For many, it’s because they don’t want to believe in hell! Out of every seven or eight New Testament verses in which Jesus speaks, He mentions hell or eternal judgment in one of them. Find out what the Lord had to say next, as Ron continues in his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

Imagine There's a Heaven, Part 2

If you’re one of the many people who think heaven will be boring, think again. Well, when we get to heaven, we’ll be doing far more than sitting on clouds and strumming on harps. We’ll be worshipping and working. But more than anything we’ll be experiencing the eternal, uninterrupted presence of Jesus Christ, and all the joy and pleasure that comes with it. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

Imagine There's a Heaven, Part 1

Back in the seventies, a man named John wanted us to imagine there was no heaven. Today, we’ll see what a different John has to say. Well, contrary to the imagination of John Lennon, heaven is a real place. And according to the Apostle John, God will one day create a new heaven, along with a new Jerusalem. Ron gives us a glimpse, but only a glimpse, of this new heaven and new Jerusalem next. You’ll have to leave the rest to your imagination.

Heaven and the New Jerusalem, Part 2

And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold I am making all things new.” You know, when we go to be with Jesus, everything will be new. Not just where we live, but who we are. We will have new, glorified bodies, a new awareness and understanding, new and greater intellectual capacity. And the best part is, we’ll enjoy all of this without pain, without regret, and without the possibility of sin. Today, Ron offers us a beautiful glimpse of our future home in Heaven, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

Heaven and the New Jerusalem, Part 1

Have you ever wondered what heaven will be like? What it will look like, where it will be located? Today, Ron takes you to the largest description of heaven found anywhere in your Bible. It came to the Apostle John in a vision from Jesus Himself, and he wrote down what he saw in Revelation chapter twenty-one, verses one through five. Prepare yourself to get homesick for heaven, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

The Father's Big House, Part 2

Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. When Jesus spoke those words recorded in John chapter fourteen, He was setting Himself apart from every other religious belief, and, every other so-called god on Earth. Coming your way next, Ron continues his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

The Father's Big House, Part 1

If you had twenty-four hours to live, what would you say to the people you love? What kind of conversation would you have? Something like that took place on the night before Jesus was crucified. He gathered His disciples together and shared a meal…and some rather telling conversation. And the things Jesus said weren’t limited to the men in the upper room. There are plenty of implications for you and me today, and Ron shares them with us next.

Sixty Seconds After We Die, Part 2

Do people get a second chance at salvation after they die? Many people believe that, even if you don’t accept Christ in this life, you’ll get one more bite at the apple in the next one. It’s one of many controversial ideas that have sprung up over the years. Today, Ron explores of few of these beliefs, and tells you what the Bible has to say about them. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

Sixty Seconds After We Die, Part 1

What does the Bible say about heaven? Maybe not as much as you’d like, but more than you might think. God hasn’t told us everything about heaven, but He has given us a few glimpses. As you’ll hear Ron tell it today, it’s a little bit like watching a baseball game through a hole in a wooden fence. You can’t see the whole picture, but you can see enough to pique your interest. Stay with us now as Ron kicks off his teaching series, “Heaven: The Father’s House and My Eternal Home.”

My Forever Home, Part 2

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. That’s First Corinthians two, nine, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, in Psalm twenty-three, King David wrote about his future dwelling place, his eternal home in heaven with God. Today, Ron gives us a glimpse, but only a glimpse, of what that home might be like. Let’s listen closely as he wraps up his teaching series, “Psalm Twenty-Three and Me: Living the Good Life With The Good Shepherd.”

My Forever Home, Part 1

If you’ve ever gone house hunting, you’ve seen your share of starter homes, single-family homes, even dream homes. But today you’ll hear all about your forever home, right here on Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, in the last sentence of the last verse of Psalm twenty-three, King David writes, “And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” What did he mean when he wrote that sentence? For answers, stay with us now as Ron continues in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

The Sheepdogs of Heaven, Part 2

“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.” That’s Psalm twenty-three, verse six, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, if you’re a believer in Christ, the Lord’s goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life, too, even on the days when He seems far away. Today, Ron explains how the goodness and mercy of God work together for good in our lives, as he moves ahead in his series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

The Sheepdogs of Heaven, Part 1

Every good shepherd has at least one sheepdog. They’re invaluable because they help keep the flock together and moving in the right direction. Today, we’ll discover that God has a couple of sheepdogs of His own. Ron tells us all about them today, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

More Than Enough, Part 2

You’ve heard the expression, “Count Your Blessings”. But how often do you do it? You know, if you did an honest accounting of all the blessings God has given you, you wouldn’t have anywhere near enough fingers and toes. God is the most generous person you’ll ever know. Ron offers proof today, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

More Than Enough, Part 1

Some people say their glass is half empty. Others prefer to call it half full. But, in case you didn’t know, there is a third option. In Psalm twenty-three verse five, David says “my cup runneth over.” It’s a testament to the never-ending generosity of God, the Good Shepherd. And if you’re a believer in Christ, David’s Good Shepherd is your Good Shepherd. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

The Anointing, Part 2

Speaking to God in Psalm twenty-three, verse five, King David says, “You anoint my head with oil.” What does that mean for us in practical terms?  Perhaps more than you might have guessed. Coming your way next, Ron takes an in-depth look at what this anointing oil produces in our lives, as he continues his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

The Anointing, Part 1

Shepherds will often anoint a sheep’s head with oil to fend off disease. God does the same thing when anoints your head with oil. If the rod and staff are part of God’s toolbox, anointing oil is part of God’s first aid kit. What does that mean for us in our relationship with God? Find out next, as Ron continues in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Table Preparations, Part 2

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” That’s Psalm twenty-three, five, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, King David had his fair share of enemies. And, if you’re a believer in Christ, so will you. But as you’ll see today, your real enemy might not be who you think it is. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Table Preparations, Part 1

In Psalm twenty-three verse five, King David says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” Well, you don’t have to be a foodie to know that, if God’s making dinner, it will be the best meal you’ve ever had. Coming your way next, Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Psalm Twenty-Three and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.” Along the way he’ll explain what King David meant when he wrote this passage, and how it applies to you and me.

The Good Shepherd's Toolbox, Part 2

Shepherds have two critical tools with them at all times, a rod and a staff. King David writes about these tools when he tells God, the Good Shephard, “your rod and your staff comfort me.” In our last broadcast, Ron talked about the rod of correction and protection. Today, he turns is attention to the Good Shepherd’s staff, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

The Good Shepherd's Toolbox, Part 1

The tools of the Shepherd’s trade, on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Today, we come to the second half of Psalm twenty-three, verse four, “thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” How does the Lord use these tools in our lives? And how does He use them in a way that brings us comfort? Find out next, as Ron continues in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Through It All, Part 2

The phrase “fear not” is found three hundred and sixty-five times in the Bible, one for each day of the year. One of the reasons God spends so much time telling us not to be afraid is because in the flesh, we’re prone to being afraid. Fear of death. Fear of the valley. Fear of failure. Fear of success. How does fear compete with faith? And what did King David say about fear? Find out next, as Ron continues in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Through It All, Part 1

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me. Psalm twenty-three, verse three tells us that God leads us down the path of righteousness. And then, suddenly, in verse four, we’re told that the path of righteousness sometimes takes us to a valley, a dangerous and frightening place, but a place where King David says he has no fear because the Lord is with him. It’s one of the most beautiful passages in all of Scripture, and Ron unpacks it today, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Rest and Refreshment for the Soul, Part 2

Come unto me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. That’s Matthew eleven, twenty-eight, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. We see a sentiment much like the one Jesus made in Matthew when we turn to Psalm twenty-three, verse two, “He makes me lie down in green pastures.”  King David is not talking only about rest, but about nourishment, for the body as well as the soul. Ron takes us to this passage next, as he continues his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Rest and Refreshment for the Soul, Part 1

Life can be hectic. Between the long commutes, the frantic work weeks, family obligations, and church involvement, it’s a miracle we ever find time to rest. But God not only wants to give you rest, He wants to give you nourishment for your soul, the kind of sustenance that increases your joy level as well as your energy level. Today, Ron takes us to a familiar passage in the book of Psalms, where King David says, “He makes me lie down in green pastures.”  What does it mean? What does it look like in real life?

Satisfaction Guaranteed, Part 2

Looking for a little satisfaction today? You can have it, but you’ve got to look in the right place. Well, the Rolling Stones wrote about it more than fifty years ago. Solomon wrote about it centuries before that. They all sought a little satisfaction yet couldn’t find it. But, there is a way to live a contended, satisfied life, and Ron tells you all about it next, as he continues his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life with The Good Shepherd.”

Satisfaction Guaranteed, Part 1

Psalm twenty-three is one of the most famous chapters in all the Bible. Dr. Ron Jones takes you there next, in today’s edition of Something Good. Well, you may have already read Psalm twenty-three dozens of times, might have even memorized it. But did you know that Psalm twenty-three is the second of a trio of Psalms that form one complete unit? Stay with us now to learn more, as Ron moves forward with his teaching series, “Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life With The Good Shepherd.”

Meet the Good Shepherd, Part 2

“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” That’s John ten, verse eleven, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, what did Jesus mean when He said He is the Good Shepherd?  And what is it that makes Him good? Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, ““Psalm 23 and Me: Living the Good Life With The Good Shepherd.”

Meet the Good Shepherd, Part 1

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. That’s the way one of the most popular chapters in all the Bible begins. Psalm 23 is a short chapter, only six verses, but it packs plenty of punch. Over the course of the next month, Ron takes a deep dive into this Psalm of David, showing us what it means for Jesus to be our Good Shepherd, and for us to be His sheep. To get things started today, Ron takes us to John chapter ten and to Christ’s own words.

Revelation: The Apocalypse of Jesus Christ, Part 2

Coming your way next, Ron takes us to the Revelation of Jesus Christ in the conclusion of his important teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Revelation: The Apocalypse of Jesus Christ, Part 1

Billions of Christians are waiting for the glorious return of Jesus Christ. And yet many do not understand how it will occur. Coming your way next, Ron takes us to the book of Revelation, and to an unveiling of the mystery behind our Lord’s future return to Earth at the end of days. What will it look like? What are the events that will take place leading up to Christ’s return. Stay with us now to find out, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Jude: Contending for the Faith, Part 2

How can you stand firm against false teaching? How can you recognize it, then refute it when it comes? Ron has answers next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Jude: Contending for the Faith, Part 1

False teaching has been around in the church almost since its inception. Do you know biblical Christianity well enough to recognize false teaching? Today, on Something Good, Ron shows us how to identify the lie, and challenges us to have the courage to call it out.

Second and Third John: Walking in Truth, Love, and Obedience, Part 2

If we took a peek inside your home church, what would we see? Well, what is the purpose of the local church? What should be its priorities? Ron answers those questions and more today, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second and Third John: Walking in Truth, Love, and Obedience, Part 1

The Christian church is worldwide, but it’s also localized. We have community churches, life groups, small group Bible studies. But no matter where they are, however large or small, they should have at least one practical thing in common. Dr. Ron shares that commonality with us next, as he continues his Something Good Radio teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First John: Walking in Fellowship with God, Part 2

The book of First John has a lot to say about loving God, and about walking in fellowship with God. How are these two things related? What do that look like in real life? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

First John: Walking in Fellowship with God, Part 1

You may already have a relationship with Jesus. But do you have a close, intimate relationship with Him? Well, the book of First John was written by the disciple whom Jesus loved. He was extremely close to Jesus, so close, in fact, that Jesus entrusted His mother, Mary, to John as He was dying four our sin on the cross of Calvary. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones encourages you to develop that kind of relationship with your Savior, and shows you what that intimate fellowship looks like.  Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Second Peter: Growing In Grace and Knowledge, Part 2

It’s hard to spot a lie if you don’t know the truth. False teachers have tried to contaminate the church of Jesus Christ for more than two thousand years. Today, Ron tells us how we can recognize their deception, as he continues his teaching series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Peter: Growing In Grace and Knowledge, Part 1

Counterfeit Christianity has been around almost since the church was founded some two thousand years ago. It feeds on false doctrine. It sows mistrust. It damages the reputation of the church that Jesus is building. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us to the book of Second Peter to show us how to combat this false Gospel, as he continues his series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First Peter: Born Again to a Living Hope, Part 2

Today, Ron takes us to the book of First Peter, as he continues his teaching series, "Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.

First Peter: Born Again to a Living Hope, Part 1

Let me ask you, what are you hoping for today? And to what are you clinging for that hope? Well, for many, hope is nothing more than wishful thinking. But genuine hope, biblical hope, is something else entirely. What does that kind of hope look like?  On what or whom is it based? Find out next, as Ron takes us to the book of First Peter in his continuing teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

James: Your Faith in Action, Part 2

Wherever you are, and however you may be listening, thanks for making us part of your day. Well, how do you attain godly wisdom? What’s the right way to resolve conflict? Why do our prayers sometimes go unanswered? These are some of the questions that are asked and answered in the book of James. Ron takes us there next, as he  continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

James: Your Faith in Action, Part 1

When trials come your way, do you falter, or do you flourish? Well, life is filled with challenges. Maybe you’ll lose a job. Maybe you’ll lose a marriage. The question is, will you lose your faith. Today, Ron takes us to the book of James in his continuing series, “Route Sixty-Six: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Hebrews: The Superiority of Jesus Christ, Part 2

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen. Today we return to the Book of Hebrews, a book known for it’s beautiful portrait of the supremacy of Jesus Christ. It’s also a theological treatise on the subject of faith. You just heard what faith is. Now let’s see what faith looks like, as Ron continues his series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Hebrews: The Superiority of Jesus Christ, Part 1

Is it possible to believe in the facts of Christianity without believing in the Person behind it? Today, Ron launches Road Trip number eight in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” He kicks things off with the book of Hebrews, an epistle filled with hard sayings and warnings that many find difficult to understand.  It also places great emphasis on the superiority of Jesus Christ.

Philemon: Freedom, Forgiveness, and Second Chances, Part 2

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.” Well, there was a time when all of us were slaves to sin and death. Some still are. But the free gift of God is eternal life. The Apostle Paul wrote about this forgiveness from sin in Romans six, twenty-three, and it’s a message he shared with his final New Testament epistle to his friend, Philemon. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Philemon: Freedom, Forgiveness, and Second Chances, Part 1

Freedom, Forgiveness and Second Chances, on today’s edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Do you need forgiveness today? Have you blown your first chance and now find yourself in need of a second? If so, you’ll enjoy today’s message from the book of Philemon. Because it’s all about the beauty of forgiveness and second chances. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Titus: Putting Things in Order, Part 2

To change the way you behave, you first have to change the way you think. Well, before anyone can take the action of putting their faith in Christ for salvation, they first have to believe that it’s necessary, and they have to believe that Jesus Christ is the only means by which they can be saved. Behavior follows belief. That’s why teaching sound doctrine in the church is so critical. Stay with us now as Ron talks about the importance of sound doctrine, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Titus: Putting Things in Order, Part 1

Just as sin brought disorder to an otherwise orderly world, so do we, even as believers in Christ saved by grace through faith, sometimes bring disorder to what God wants to be an ordered church. There is a biblical order to the church, one the Apostle Paul wrote about some two thousand years ago in his letter to Titus. Ron takes us to that epistle today, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Timothy: Keeping the Faith, Part 2

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. The Apostle Paul wrote those words to Timothy in chapter three of his second letter to the young clergyman. Today, Ron takes us to this important letter, written by Paul near the end of his life. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Timothy: Keeping the Faith, Part 1

C.S. Lewis once said, “You can’t go back and make a new beginning, but you can start right now and make a new ending.” What Lewis was talking about, among other things, was finishing strong. All of us, regardless of our past or our present, can start running our Christian race right now and finish well at the end. The Apostle Paul had just this idea in mind when he wrote the book of Second Timothy. Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route Sixty-Six: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First Timothy: Guarding the Sacred Trust, Part 2

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a sacred trust, one that should be protected, carefully guarded against any doctrine or any teaching that runs contrary to it. Well, false teaching in the church is nothing new. It’s been around almost since the day the church was born, and it is still prevalent today. How do we guard against it? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

First Timothy: Guarding the Sacred Trust, Part 1

The truth about false doctrine, on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, the book of First Timothy was written to a young clergyman in Ephesus who had been mentored by the Apostle Paul. Paul wanted to make it clear that the local church should be properly structured, with elders and deacons carefully chosen on the basis of spiritual maturity. But Paul also warned Timothy as to the dangers of false teaching, urging him to rightly disseminate the Word of God with a mixture of boldness and humility. Paul’s instruction is as relevant today as it was two thousand years ago. And Ron shares Paul’s wisdom with us next, as he continues his series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Thessalonians: Until Christ Comes, Part 2

“Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for the day of the Lord will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.” Just who is this man of lawlessness, and what is keeping him from emerging on the world scene? Find out next, as Ron takes us to Second Thessalonians in his continuing series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Thessalonians: Until Christ Comes, Part 1

In light of Christ’s future return, how shall we now live? Today, we come to the book of Second Thessalonians, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” Some of the believers in Thessalonica were under the impression that Christ had already returned. They were confused, disillusioned, and had begun to shirk some of their responsibilities. The Apostle Paul wrote this second letter to set the record straight, and Ron takes us there next.

First Thessalonians: The Lord's Coming, Part 2

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise first.” That’s First Thessalonians four, sixteen, and this is Something Good Radio. Well, the church in Thessalonica had been misinformed about the Second Coming of Christ, and had now grown concerned that their loved ones who had departed were no longer able to be saved.  Paul clearly and emphatically addressed those false teachings, and then, for good measure, he added some additional thoughts on the subject of Christ’s second coming.

First Thessalonians: The Lord's Coming, Part 1

“We also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it, not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the Word of God.” Well, the Apostle Paul wrote those words to the Thessalonians, a body of believers who had turned from idolatry and begun to worship the true and living God. Paul commended for their strong faith, and yet he also needed to point out a few areas of concern.

Colossians: Jesus Is Greater Than, Part 2

You may think you know who you are. But do you know who you are in Christ? Well, before anyone can know who they are in Christ, they first need to know the truth about who Jesus is. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Colossians to identify the truth about Jesus, and the truth about who we are as a result. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Colossians: Jesus is Greater Than, Part 1

Some two thousand years ago, false teaching had begun to creep its way into the church at Colossae. So the Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Colossians to debunk those heretical ideas. What were these false teachings, and how does Paul’s letter apply to us today? Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Philippians: Choose Joy, Part 2

How can you find joy in the midst of adverse circumstances? Today we return to the Book of Philippians, an epistle written by the Apostle while he was in prison. Despite his bleak circumstances, he chose joy. So can we. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Philippians: Choose Joy, Part 1

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say rejoice.” Well, when the Apostle Paul wrote those words to the Philippian church, he was under house arrest in Rome. What he wanted the church to understand, what God wants you and me to understand, is that the joy of the Lord is not circumstantial, its intentional. It’s a choice we have the power to make no matter how we feel or what we may be going through.

Ephesians: Basic Christianity, Part 2

Returning to the basics of our Christian faith, on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, the book of Ephesians can be neatly divided into two sections. In the first three chapter, the Apostle Paul focuses on theology. In the final three chapters he shifts away from doctrine and turns his attention to duty.  And one of the first duties he mentions is that all of us are called to be part of a local body of believers.

Ephesians: Basic Christianity, Part 1

You may not know it yet, but if you’re a believer in Christ, you have been made spiritually wealthy. Well, the book of Ephesians is one of four prison epistles written by the Apostle Paul. He was under house arrest in Rome when he penned this letter. The Ephesian believers were living like spiritual paupers, and Paul wanted to change their perspective. Perhaps you need a change of perspective today. If so, stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Galatians: Freedom from Religion, Part 2

You can’t get right with God by trying harder or doing better. There is only one way to be reconciled to God, and Dr. Ron Jones shares it with us next, on this Monday edition of Something Good. Some two thousand years ago, early in the Apostle Paul’s ministry, a group of people known as the Judaizers had tainted the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul wrote the book of Galatians, at least in part, to refute those false claims. Ron takes us there today, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Galatians: Freedom from Religion, Part 1

"I do not nullify the grace of God. For if righteousness were through the Law, then Christ died for no purpose." With these words in Galatians five, twenty-one, the Apostle Paul made his position clear. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. But when some began to poison the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ, Paul responded swiftly by writing the book of Galatians. Ron takes us there next, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Corinthians: A Defense of Ministry, Part 2

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” That’s Second Corinthians nine, verse seven, and this is Something Good Radio. The Book of Second Corinthians is largely dedicated to Paul’s defense of his ministry. But it also contains the largest section on stewardship and financial giving in the entire New Testament. Is tithing strictly an Old Testament idea? Is it part of the Mosaic Law? Is it still relevant today? Decide for yourself, as Ron dives into this passage today as part of his continuing series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Corinthians: A Defense of Ministry, Part 1

In his first letter to the Corinthian church, the Apostle Paul was disciplinary. In his second, he was defensive. What changed? Well, the Apostle Paul wasn’t always an apostle. He was once Saul of Tarsus, who persecuted the followers of Christ and did so in the name of Christ. After his conversion and subsequent rise to a position of authority in the church, some in Corinth still doubted his credentials. Paul wrote Second Corinthians to defend his ministry, and Ron takes us to that defense today, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First Corinthians: Body Life, Part 2

Let’s talk about love, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. The Corinthian church had plenty of problems, and plenty of questions. Questions about the gift of speaking in tongues, about eating meat offered to idols, about divorce and remarriage. In First Corinthians, the Apostle Paul offers a practical response to these and other issues.  But the foundational principle upon which all his answers rested was love. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First Corinthians: Body Life, Part 1

Here in America, if you want to take a trip to Sin City, you’ll go to Las Vegas. But in first century Greece, you’d have gone to Corinth. Corinth was Vegas before Vegas. Prostitution and debauchery ran rampant. And when a little of the pagan Corinthian culture began to infiltrate the church the Apostle Paul had planted there, Paul took pen to parchment and wrote them a letter.  What did he tell them, and how much of what he said applies to our culture today?

Romans: The Christian Manifesto, Part 2

Today, we return to the Book of Romans, a theological masterpiece, but one that can often be difficult to read and understand. The letter can be broken down into five parts, sin, salvation, sanctification, the sovereignty of God, and Christian service. It’s those final two, sovereignty and service, that Ron talks about next, as he continues his series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Romans: The Christian Manifesto, Part 1

It might be the most intimidating book in all the Bible. Dr. Ron Jones dives into it next, on this Thursday edition of Something Good Radio. Today, Ron launches Road Trip Number Seven in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” It begins with the book of Romans, a difficult book to read and understand, but more than worth the effort. Ron calls it the Grand Canyon of the Christian faith, something you have to see for yourself in order to fully appreciate and understand.

Acts: You Shall Be My Witnesses, Part 2

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.” Jesus spoke those words just before He ascended into heaven, and we find them recorded in Acts chapter one. This set the stage for all that followed. Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Acts: You Shall Be My Witnesses, Part 1

You could argue that the church in the Book of Acts did more for the growth of Christianity than all the generations that have followed put together. How did they do it? Ron calls it the early church IPO, the initial public outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that the first Christians were able to persevere through hardship and persecution to launch the church Jesus promised He would build. Stay with us now as Ron takes us to the Book of Acts in his continuing series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

John: Reasons to Believe, Part 2

Why should we believe that Jesus is exactly who He claims to be? Find out next, on this Monday edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. The Gospel of John offers many reasons to believe that Jesus is who He said He was. That was the purpose of John’s writing, to convince his readers to believe that Jesus was and is the long-awaited Messiah. Today, Ron offers some rather convincing proof of Christ’s claim, as he continues his teaching series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

John: Reasons to Believe, Part 1

Seeing is believing. Or is it? Well, to hear the Apostle John tell it, it’s the other way around. Believing is seeing. This truth is echoed throughout the Bible, but the Gospel of John places special emphasis on belief, as well as the Person in whom we should believe. John ultimately takes us to the deep end of theology and philosophy, and we dive into those waters next, as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Luke: Behold the Man, Part 2

When the days grew near for Jesus to be taken up, He set His face like a flint to go to Jerusalem.” That’s Luke nine, fifty-one, and this is Something Good Radio. Jesus’ spent His entire three-year ministry serving the needs of others. Healing them. Helping them. Teaching them. But He never lost sight of His primary purpose, to go to Jerusalem and give His life for the sins of mankind. The Gospel of Luke highlights Christ’s fierce determination to complete His ultimate task, and Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Luke: Behold the Man, Part 1

One of the things that makes the Gospel of Luke different from the rest of the Gospels is that Luke spends much of his time talking about Christ’s humanity. Yes, our Lord was and is fully God, but He was also fully human, a point Luke emphasizes throughout His Gospel account. Today, Ron takes us to the Gospel of Luke as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Mark: He Came to Serve, Part 2

When Jesus came the first time, the Jews expected Him to be a warrior, one who would overthrow the Romans and usher in Israel's golden age. And one day that’s exactly what He will do. But that was not His original purpose. Isaiah chapter fifty-three points us to the purpose of Christ’s First Coming. Not as a soldier but as a servant who would defeat sin, Satan and death itself. That’s the picture of Jesus painted for us in the Gospel of Mark, and Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Mark: He Came to Serve, Part 1

Scenes from the life of a suffering servant, on this Monday edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Today, Ron continues his journey through the Bible by taking us to the Gospel of Mark. It’s the shortest of the Gospels, focusing primarily on the actions rather than the words of Jesus Christ. As you’ll see in just a few moments, it reads something like an action movie, with the author quickly taking us from one scene to the next. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Matthew: Who Is Your King? Part 2

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single most important event in human history. But how can we be sure it actually happened? Today, we return to the Gospel of Matthew, an account that gives us compelling evidence that Jesus is the Messiah, and that the resurrection did, in fact, take place. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Matthew: Who Is Your King? Part 1

Looking for compelling evidence that Jesus Christ is, in fact, the Messiah? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Today, Ron launches Road Trip Number Six in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” It begins with the first book of the New Testament, the Gospel of Matthew, an account that offers convincing proof that Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be.

Malachi: Making Great the Lord's Name, Part 2

“For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations,’ says the Lord of Hosts.” That’s Malachi chapter one, verse eleven, and this is Something Good Radio. About four hundred years before the birth of Christ, the people of Israel had lost their passion for serving God. And in His last words to the Israelites for more than four Centuries, the Lord sent the prophet Malachi to remind them what He had done for them, and what He will do for them in the future. Ron takes us to these last words next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Malachi: Making Great the Lord's Name, Part 1

Have you ever felt like God doesn’t love you? If so, you’re not alone. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Malachi, the last book in the Old Testament, and the last words God spoke to His people for more than four hundred years. What were His final words?  What did God say to a nation that had grown apathetic and corrupt, and had begun questioning God’s love for them? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Zechariah: Yahweh Remembers, Part 2

God keeps His covenant with us even when we disobey. But there is a cost to disobedience. The prophet Zachariah warned the Israelites about the consequences of sin and disobedience. But he also spoke of a faithful God who will one day keep every promise He has ever made. Ron takes us to the book of Zachariah next, as he continues his teaching series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Zechariah: Yahweh Remembers, Part 1

Even when we don’t honor our covenant with God, He remains faithful to His covenant with us. Isn’t that good news? God remembers His covenant promises, and keeps them, no matter how many times we fail. Coming up next, Ron takes us to the book of Zachariah, and to a wonderful reminder that God always honors His commitments.

Haggai: Time to Build for God's Glory, Part 2

Let me ask you, what are you priorities in life? The top five or six things that are especially important to you? Today, Ron takes us once again to the book of Haggai, when God sends the prophet to Israel to help put their priorities back in order.  His message was relevant then, and it’s still relevant now. Stay right here as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Haggai: Time to Build for God's Glory, Part 1

The book of Haggai often goes unnoticed. It’s a short book, just two chapters, and its content doesn’t seem all that relevant. But even now, centuries later, it still holds many valuable lessons for believers today. Lessons about priorities, problems, perseverance, and about the personal relationship God wants to have with us. Ron shares some of those lessons next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Zephaniah: Wrath and Blessing, Part 2

“And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.” That’s Hebrews four, thirteen, and this is Something Good Radio. Well, the prophet Zephaniah went to Judah, one of the two divided kingdoms in Israel, to confront them about their sin. Idolatry. child sacrifice, the list goes on and on. Zephaniah warns the people of the impending wrath of God, but he also speaks about the blessings of God. Ron dives into this prophecy next as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Zephaniah: Wrath and Blessing, Part 1

Sin and sin’s ability, on this Monday edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, we rarely talk about sin anymore. And we often fail to notice that many of the harsh realities of life are consequences of our sin against God. But God Himself talks about sin many times in His Word. Which is why today, Ron takes us to the book of Zephaniah as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” It’s a book about the sin of man and the wrath of God, but it’s also a book about the blessings of God.

Habakkuk: Why, God? Part 2

In chapter one of Habakkuk, the prophet speaks of a confused faith, one with more questions than answers. In chapter two he talks about a waiting faith. Today, Ron takes us to the good news found in chapter three, in which the prophet reaches a point of triumphant faith. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Habakkuk: Why, God? Part 1

Most of the Old Testament prophets spoke to the people on God’s behalf. But one of them did just the opposite, speaking to God on the people’s behalf. Well, the people in Habakkuk’s day had plenty of burning questions. They wanted to know why there is so much injustice in the world, and why God’s chosen people were being targeted by enemy nations. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Habakkuk, sharing some of the prophet’s questions as well as God’s answers, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Nahum: Slow to Anger, Part 2

Consider these words from Nahum chapter one, verse three. “The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked.” What is this Divine wrath the prophet Nahum warns us about? And who are the wicked people for whom this wrath is appointed? Answers are headed your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Nahum: Slow to Anger, Part 1

God is a loving God. Merciful. Patient. Kind. But He can also be wrathful. We don’t like talking about the wrath of God. We’d rather focus on His grace, His compassion, His goodness and mercy. But wrath is a very real part of His character. What does that wrath look like? For whom is it reserved? Ron has answers coming your way next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Micah: What the Lord Requires, Part 2

"And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." That’s Micah six, eight, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, what does it mean to do justice? To love mercy? To walk humbly with your God? What do these three qualities look like in day to day life? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Micah: What the Lord Requires, Part 1

“Social justice” is a popular theme here in the Twenty-First Century. But is modern-day social justice the same thing as biblical justice? The prophet Micah was a man of modest means, what today we might call a backwoods country preacher ., and he cried out for justice to those who were oppressing the poor. What kind of justice was Micah talking about?  Is it the same as what many are demanding today?  Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, ““Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Jonah: The Biggest Fish Story Ever Told, Part 2

God sent the prophet Jonah to deliver a stern message to the rebellious people of Nineveh. Dr. Ron Jones shares their response to that message next, on this Thursday edition of Something Good. Today, we return to the book of Jonah, and to his warning to Nineveh about the impending consequences of their sin.  It’s a story of obedience, of repentance, and the God of second chances.

Jonah: The Biggest Fish Story Ever Told, Part 1

It’s the greatest fish story ever told, and it comes your way next, on this Wednesday edition of Something Good. Today, we come to the story of Jonah, a runaway prophet who spent three days living in the belly of a great fish. This three-day period is a foreshadowing of Christ Himself, and offers some practical lessons for us today.

Obadiah: Sovereign Justice, Part 2

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” Jesus said those words in His Sermon on the Mount.  But the idea was communicated centuries earlier through the prophet Obadiah. That’s where Ron takes us next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Obadiah: Sovereign Justice, Part 1

It began as a sibling rivalry. It culminated, generations later, in a declaration of war. The bad blood between Jacob and his older brother, Esau, is one of the more well-known stories in the Old Testament. And even though the two brothers made amends, a time came when the descendants of Esau sought to destroy the descendants of Jacob. That’s when God stepped in, speaking to the Edomites through the prophet Obadiah. Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Amos: Seek God and Live, Part 2

We often say, “God bless America.” We sing “God Bless America.” But does our nation really deserve God’s blessing? Today Ron takes us to the book of Amos, where God shares a rather sobering message with the nation of Israel, one that He could very easily give to our own nation today. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Amos: Seek God and Live, Part 1

The prophet Amos was something of a country preacher. A man of modest means called to take the word of the Lord to eight nations during a period of great prosperity and affluence. But was also a time marked by greed, exploitation of the poor, and a rather severe moral decline. What was Amos’ message, and how does it apply to us today? Ron has answers next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Joel: The Awesome Day of the Lord, Part 2

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.” That’s Joel, two, twenty-five, and this is Something Good. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Joel, a prophecy that speaks of devastation upon the nation of Israel, but also the promise of God’s Divine restoration. And when God restores, it always exceeds that which was once lost.

Joel: The Awesome Day of the Lord, Part 1

For the day of the Lord is coming. For it is at hand. What exactly is the day of the Lord? When will it take place? What does it mean for believers in Christ? What about those who don’t believe in Christ? For answers, Ron takes us to the book of Joel today as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Hosea: God's Loyal Love, Part 2

God’s grace and mercy are two sides of the same coin. By His grace He gives us what we don’t deserve. By His mercy He withholds what we do deserve. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Hosea, which gives us a beautiful picture of the mercy of God. Time and again the nation of Israel breaks its covenant with God through sin and rebellion. And yet, God says through the prophet Hosea that He will not come against His children in wrath.

Hosea: God's Loyal Love, Part 1

Today, Ron launches Road Trip 5 of his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” We begin with the book of Hosea, in which we find two unusual love stories, one between Hosea and his wife, Gomer, the other between God and the nation of Israel.

Daniel: Standing Strong Until the End of the Age, Part 2

It’s one of the most anticipated prophecies in the entire Bible, a seven-year season of tribulation followed by an eternity of triumph. And Dr. Ron Jones takes you there next, on this Thursday edition of Something Good. Today, Ron shares from the book of Daniel, and to a prophecy concerning events that will take place at the end of this age.

Daniel: Standing Strong Until the End of the Age, Part 1

When enemies come against you or try to harm you, their actions reveal their character. They can also reveal your own. Well, it’s hard to get a good read on someone’s character until they face adversity. That’s when our true character is revealed. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Daniel to show us what genuine, godly character looks like.

Ezekiel: The Glory of God, Part 2

Have you ever wondered if God may have left you? Does He sometimes seem silent or distant, impossible to reach? Coming your way next, Ron takes us to the book of Ezekiel as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” Along the way, he’ll remind us of the promises God has made to Israel, and the promises He has made to all who have put their faith in Christ.

Ezekiel: The Glory of God, Part 1

“There is none like you among the gods, O Lord. Nor are there any works like Yours.” That’s Psalm eighty-six, verse eight … and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, the glory of God is a prominent theme in the book of Ezekiel. He describes the sum total of God’s divine nature, His attributes and His creative works. Coming up next, Ron takes us to this Old Testament prophecy, and shows us how it remains relevant for all of us today. Stay with us now, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Lamentations: Great is Thy Faithfulness, Part 2

What’s the difference between worldly sorrow and godly sorrow? Jeremiah has been called the weeping prophet. He was grief-stricken over the spiritual decline of God’s chosen nation Israel, and he wrote about it in the book of Lamentations. His was a godly sorrow, one that motivated him to encourage Israel to repent. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Lamentations: Great is Thy Faithfulness, Part 1

When was the last time you experienced deep sorrow or grief? The prophet Jeremiah was grief-stricken over the spiritual decline of the nation of Israel. So he took pen to parchment and wrote the book of Lamentations, a passionate expression of sorrow or grief. But in the midst of all this sorrow, we find something else altogether. Hope. That’s where Ron takes us today … to a place called Hope, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Jeremiah: A New Covenant, Part 2

“For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” That’s Jeremiah thirty-one, thirty-four, and this is Something Good. When Israel broke their covenant with God, the Lord kept His end of the bargain. He forgave them, He remembered their sin no more, and then He promised to one day launch a whole new covenant with them. Today, Ron explores God’s forgiveness, His new covenant, and what it means for you and me.

Jeremiah: A New Covenant, Part 1

God is always up to something good. And sometimes, He’s up to something new. Well, Jeremiah was called by God to be a prophet to the Jewish people at the age of twenty-one. He was tough, yet tender. Some have even called him the “weeping prophet.” Part of his message to Israel was that God would one day do a brand new thing for His chosen people. Ron takes us to the book of Jeremiah next, as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Isaiah: God Is My Salvation, Part 2

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. With those words, the prophet Isaiah showed us our deep need for salvation, and spoke of the only Person, Jesus Christ, who could give it to us. Ron explores two key ideas from the book of Isaiah today, the depravity of man, and the deliverance of man, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Isaiah: God Is My Salvation, Part 1

Today, Ron explores the book of Isaiah, the first of the Major Prophets of the Old Testament, and the first book in Road Trip Number Four of his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.” Pay close attention today. As Ron will tell you in just a few moments, if you master the book of Isaiah, you will understand the heart of God, and the heart of His prophetic message.

Song of Solomon: The Secrets of a Satisfying Marriage, Part 2

If you expect marriage to be all sunshine and rainbows, it’s not all your fault. The truth is, you’ve been lied to. Hollywood movies and romance novels might lead married couples to believe that the honeymoon should never be over. Today, Ron takes us straight to God’s Word to show us that conflict is a very real, very natural issue in marriage. How does God instruct us to resolve marital conflict? Stay with us now to find out.

Song of Solomon: The Secrets of a Satisfying Marriage, Part 1

The world wants you to believe that marriage is a cultural construct. Don’t buy the lie. Well, the institution of marriage was created by God Himself. It was His idea. His blueprint. And the reason so many marriages are failing these days is because we’ve replaced His design with one our own. Today, Ron takes us back three thousand years, to a book of the Bible that shows us what healthy, godly marriages look like.

Ecclesiastes: The Ultimate Meaning of Life, Part 2

Have you searched in vain for the meaning of life by exploring everything under the sun? If so, maybe it’s time you look above the sun. Today, Ron takes us once again to the book of Ecclesiastes as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Ecclesiastes: The Ultimate Meaning of Life, Part 1

“Vanity of vanities. All is vanity.” Well, the author of that depressing line is none other than King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived other than Jesus Christ. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Ecclesiastes, and to Solomon’s thoughts on the true meaning of life, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible,”

Proverbs: Wise Sayings for Everyday Life, Part 2

What’s the difference between wisdom and knowledge. The book of Proverbs has been called a collection of short sentences based on long experiences. It's human author was King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived other than Jesus Christ. But ultimately, the author is God Himself, and He longs to share His wisdom with all who have ears to hear it. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Proverbs: Wise Sayings for Everyday Life, Part 1

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That’s Proverbs nine, ten, and this is Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. If you’re looking for wisdom, you’d be wise to read the book of Proverbs. Ron calls it counsel from heaven for conduct on Earth. Plenty of people can offer solid advice, and God tells us to seek counsel from friends and pastors and mentors. But for pure, divinely-inspired wisdom straight from the mouth of God, the book of Proverbs is one of the best places you can go. And that’s where we’re going today, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Psalms: Ancient Songs that Shape the Heart, Part 2

Do you need to recharge your spiritual battery today? Do you need wisdom that can only come from an intimate relationship with God? If so, I invite you to join Dr. Ron Jones right now, on this Wednesday edition of Something Good. Coming your way next, Ron takes us to the book of Psalms, the second of the five Old Testament Wisdom books. Along the way, he’ll give you four key reasons why reading the Psalms can be so beneficial.

Psalms: Ancient Songs that Shape the Heart, Part 1

Many believers in Christ would say the book of Psalms is one of their two or three favorite books in the Bible. If you need to recharge your batteries or refuel your soul, the book of Psalms is the place to go. Ron takes us there today as he moves ahead in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Job: Why Do the Righteous Suffer, Part 2

If God answered all of our questions, we would never need faith. And without faith, it is impossible to please God. When Job lost his children and all his wealth, he never blamed God for any wrongdoing. But he did have plenty of questions, and he began to ask God for an explanation. Ron takes us to Job’s conversation with God next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Job: Why Do the Righteous Suffer? Part 1

It just might be the oldest story ever written, and it comes your way next, on this Friday edition of Something Good. He was a wealthy man, and a righteous man. He had a loving wife, ten healthy children, and all the land and riches a man could hope to have. But his life of prosperity was about to become a season of pain. Ron takes you to his story today as he begins Road Trip Number Three of his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Esther: For Such a Time as This, Part 2

It’s one of the most well-known verses in the Old Testament, “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” That Scripture comes from the book of Esther chapter four, verse fourteen. Ron takes us there today to remind us that the providence of God was not limited to the time of Mordecai and Esther. It still applies to us today, no matter what we’re going through.

Esther: For Such a Time as This, Part 1

God often does His best work behind the scenes. No fanfare. No marching bands. No obvious miracles. Well, sometimes God parts the Red Sea or heals a blind man. But more often than not, His approach is more subtle. He is always sovereign, He is always in control, but He is not always performing the noticeably miraculous. For one of the greatest stories of God working providentially behind the scenes, stay with us now as Ron takes us to the book of Esther.

Nehemiah: Building a Better Life, Part 2

What does it take to build a better life? Today, Ron takes us once again to the book of Nehemiah, where God tells us about the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem. But there’s also a metaphorical message about shoring up the broken walls in our own spiritual lives. How do we do this? Ron offers us four practical keys today as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Nehemiah: Building a Better Life, Part 1

Rebuilding your spiritual walls, on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, the book of Nehemiah tells the story of rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. But it also shows us how to rebuild and restore the broken places of our own hearts and minds. Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Ezra: Return from Exile, Part 2

What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Today Ron takes us to the book of Ezra, written by a man of integrity who demonstrated all the qualities of a true disciple.  Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Ezra: Return from Exile, Part 1

When God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, He used Moses to break out all two million of them. Centuries later, when the Babylonian King told the Israelites they were free to leave their captivity, only fifty thousand Israelites chose to leave. This brief history sets the stage for the book of Ezra, where Ron takes us today in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Second Chronicles: If My People, Part 2

Do you want to see revival take place here in America? Then come with Dr. Ron Jones right now, as he shares today’s something good radio message from the book of Second Chronicles. Coming your way next, Ron takes us to a time in Israel’s history when it was a divided kingdom, and when most of the kings and the inhabitants of those two kingdoms were living in rebellion against God.

Second Chronicles: If My People, Part 1

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. That’s Second Chronicles seven, fourteen, and this is Something Good Radio. That promise from God was given to the nation of Israel in the days of King Solomon. Does it apply to other nations as well, specifically to the United States? Find out next, as Dr. Ron Jones moves ahead in his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First Chronicles: Return to Your Spiritual Roots, Part 2

The book of First Chronicles was first written to the Jews who were coming home from exile in Babylon. The writer wanted to remind the Israelites of their spiritual past, the times when they were blessed for their obedience, and the times when they endured the consequences of rebellion. It’s a critical lesson for all of us to learn today, and Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

First Chronicles: Return to Your Spiritual Roots, Part 1

Returning to your spiritual roots, on this Friday edition of Something Good. The first thing you’ll notice about the book of First Chronicles is that it contains a rather long genealogical record. The writer knew just how critical it was for the people of God to understand their past, so that they might return to right relationship with God.

Second Kings: The Decline and Captivity of a Nation, Part 2

How can an entire nation return to God? One repentant soul at a time. The book of Second Kings is partially a tale of Israel’s rebellion against God. The nation first becomes divided into two kingdoms. For most of that four hundred year period, with very few exceptions, both kingdoms did evil in the sight of the Lord. And ultimately, Israel was taken into captivity. Ron takes us back to this period in Israel’s history next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Kings: The Decline and Captivity of a Nation, Part 1

God is not mocked. As a man sows he also shall reap. It’s true of individuals. It’s also true of nations. Well, after the reign of King Solomon, and partly due to the latter stages of his reign, the nation of Israel divided into two kingdoms, and with few exceptions, every king, and by extension, the inhabitants themselves, did evil in the sight of the Lord. What are some practical applications for us today? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

First Kings: United or Divided? Part 2

Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived other than Jesus. But in his old age, he made some foolish choices. Find out what happened next, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good. Today, Ron takes us once again to the book of First Kings, and to some of the decisions that ultimately led to Israel becoming a divided nation.

First Kings: United or Divided? Part 1

A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. When Jesus spoke those words, He was referring to Satan’s kingdom in hell. But He could just have easily been talking about any earthly kingdom, including ancient Israel. Today ,Ron takes us to the book of First Kings, a time in Israel’s history when it was inching ever so closely to a divided kingdom, although the Israelites didn’t know it yet.

Second Samuel: My Heart Like God's, Part 2

He committed adultery and murder, then tried to cover it up. And yet he was still called a man after God’s own heart. You may be asking, how is this possible? How can someone who fell so badly be called a man after God’s own heart. Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Second Samuel: My Heart Like God's, Part 1

What does it mean to be a man, or a woman, after God’s own heart? Well, King David was called a man after God’s own heart. And it was God Himself who said so. Why did the Lord describe him this way? How does a person after God’s own heart behave? For answers, stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

First Samuel: Which Way Will You Turn, Part 2

Have you ever found yourself at a moral crossroads, temptation to the left, truth to the right? Well, Israel found itself at just such a crossroads. At a time when God was their king, they asked for, in fact they demanded, a human king. Ron takes us to the story of Israel’s turning point next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

First Samuel: Which Way Will You Turn, Part 1

When making decisions about how you will live your life, do you follow the rebellious crowd, or the risen Christ? People and even entire nations have at times abandoned the Christian principles they once held dear. America has done it. So, too, did Israel, when it asked God to step down as their king so that they could anoint a human king. That story comes your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Ruth: Romance and Redemption, Part 2

When is a fairy tale not a fairy tale? Find out next, on this Monday edition of Something Good radio. Today, Ron takes us once again to the book of Ruth. It’s a story of romance, redemption and true love. It reads much like a fairy tale, except in this case, it actually happened. And it points to an even greater love story, that between Christ and the church.

Ruth: Romance and Redemption, Part 1

A picture inside a picture, on this Friday edition of Something Good. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Ruth, a story of romance and redemption that gives us a beautiful illustration of a bigger picture, which is God’s redemption of all those who believe in Christ.

Judges: Anarchy and Apostasy, Part 2

The book of Judges is a story of rebellion, confession and deliverance, and it is told over and over again. Seven times in fact, seven consecutive generations of Israelites who kept repeating the same mistakes as the generation before. Ron takes us back to ancient Israel today, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Judges: Anarchy and Apostasy, Part 1

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Well, shortly after the death of Joshua, the Israelites, who were living in the Promised Land, begin to rebel against God. In fact, for seven generations, or about three hundred and fifty years, Israel repeated these cycles of disobedience. Each generation falling into the same patterns as the one before.  Today, Ron takes us to the book of Judges to talk us through some of this early history of Israel, and explain how it still applies to us today.

Joshua: Possessing the Promised Land, Part 2

The Promised Land wasn’t merely there for Israel to take. It was there for Israel to keep. Find out how this applies to you, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good. Today, Ron reminds us that in Christ, we all of us have gained access to the Promised Land. We take possession of it by faith, and we keep possession of it by faith.

Joshua: Possessing the Promised Land, Part 1

It may very well be the worst battle plan in the history of war. But it was God’s battle plan, and it worked to perfection. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Joshua. The Israelites, after forty years of wandering in the wilderness, find themselves on the doorstep of their destiny. What happens next is nothing short of remarkable, as God takes limited people and does a legendary thing.

Deuteronomy: Remembering God's Law, Part 2

Last words are very often important words. Today Dr. Ron Jones takes you to the final words of Moses, right here on something good radio. Well, the book of Deuteronomy is something of a farewell address from Moses to the Israelites. Three separate farewell addresses to be exact. Moses shares them about one month before his death, words of wisdom designed to help the Israelites, and to help you and me, enjoy the abundant, joyful Christian life.

Deuteronomy: Remembering God's Law, Part 1

The Bible Jesus read, on this Thursday edition of Something Good. When Jesus was in the wilderness, Satan tempted Him three times. And all three times, Jesus quoted Scripture from the book of Deuteronomy. Ron takes us to this final book of the Pentateuch next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Numbers: Wilderness Wanderings, Part 2

It’s a trip that should have taken the Israelites two weeks. But because of their unbelief, it took four decades. Well, God had already delivered the Israelites out of Egypt, but it took forty years to get the Egypt out of the Israelites. Ron takes us to the story next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Numbers: Wilderness Wanderings, Part 1

Some have called it the book of murmurings. Dr. Ron Jones takes us there next, on this Tuesday edition of something good. The book of Numbers is a cautionary tale for all of us. It chronicles the Israelites roller coaster journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, a two-week trip that took forty years to make. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Leviticus: Worshipping a Holy God, Part 2

Today, Ron takes us to what he calls the handbook of holiness, the book of Leviticus. It points us to the holiness of God, encourages us to live holy lives, and reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus made to spare us from the eternal consequences of sin.

Leviticus: Worshipping a Holy God, Part 1

It may be the least read book in all the Bible. But it’s far more interesting and practical than you might think. Well, at first blush, the book of Leviticus may seem boring, dry, and repetitive. But as you’ll discover today, there’s a reason for the repetition. Today, Ron takes us to Leviticus as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”

Exodus: Freedom from Slavery, Part 2

It’s one of the most monumental books in all the Bible, and Dr. Ron Jones takes us there next, on this Thursday edition of Something Good radio. The book of Exodus gives us a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ, and the salvation that can only be found through faith in Him. Ron walks us through the second half of Exodus today, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Exodus: Freedom from Slavery, Part 1

The book of Genesis is largely about the creation of man and the fall of man. But in Exodus, the second book of the Bible, God gives us a beautiful illustration of the redemption of man. Well, four hundred years have passed between the end of Genesis and the opening of Exodus. God’s chosen people, the Israelites, are enslaved in Egypt, and God sets in motion the events to set them free from their bondage. Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”

Genesis: The Beginning of All Things, Part 2

Who am I? How did I get here? Why am I here? Where am I going? Answers come your way next, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Genesis to talk about our identity, our origin, our purpose and our destiny. Along the way, he’ll explain why Satan spends so much time and energy attacking the book of Genesis.

Genesis: The Beginning of All Things, Part 1

The Bible is the holy, infallible Word of God. Every page, every passage, every word is profitable for teaching and reproof.  But how do all six hundred thousand words fit together? Today, and for the next several months, Ron answers that question as he takes us on a fascinating journey through all sixty-six books of God’s Word. The series is called, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible,” and we begin, as they say, at the beginning, starting with the Books of the Law, Genesis through Deuteronomy. Ron calls it Road Trip number one.

Your Eternal Portfolio, Part 2

Whoever loves money never has enough. Whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. Those words of wisdom came from Solomon, in Ecclesiastes chapter five verse ten. Today, Ron explains how the love of money can wreak havoc in our relationship with God. It’s the final installment of his teaching series, “His Money, Your Faith,” and it comes your way next.

Your Eternal Portfolio, Part 1

Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. In just a few moments, Ron continues his series, “His Money, Your Faith,” by asking a simple, yet profound question, where is your heart. You’ll find it by looking at where your treasure is.

Breaking Free of the Debt Trap, Part 2

Have you fallen into the debt trap today? If you’d like to climb out but don’t know how, you’ve come to the right place. Today, Ron shares five practical steps to getting out of debt. They aren’t easy, but they are doable. And let’s face it, no matter how hard getting out of debt may be, it’s far easier than staying in it.

Breaking Free of the Debt Trap, Part 1

Today, Ron takes us to the all-too-familiar problem of consumer debt. Many people struggle to make ends meet, and part of the problem is they’ve made a bad choice or two along the way. How can you get debt free? What is God’s plan for your finances? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “His Money, Your Faith.”

God's Plan for Your Financial Freedom, Part 2

When you look at your bank account, it may seem like you can’t afford to tithe. The truth is, you can’t afford not to. Today, Ron continues his series, “His Money, Your Faith” by giving us an in-depth look at God’s financial plan, what Ron calls the ten-ten-eighty plan. It’s biblical, it’s practical, and it’s essential for your financial health and your spiritual health.

God's Plan for Your Financial Freedom, Part 1

There are over two thousand verses in Scripture that have to do with money. If it’s that important to God, it should be equally important to us. God’s Word offers us several principles to help keep us from becoming slaves to debt. But as you’ll see today, financial freedom is not the only kind of freedom God offers us.

Whose Money Is it, Anyway? Part 2

If you’re wondering if God cares about the way we use our money, consider this, the Bible contains more than two thousand verses on the subject. Money can often distract us from doing God’s will, and it has the potential to enslave us if we’re not careful. Today, Ron shares three keys to managing our finances God’s way as he continues his series, “His Money, Your Faith.”

Whose Money Is it, Anyway? Part 1

When Pontius Pilate told Jesus that he had the authority to set Him free, Jesus said, “You would have no authority at all unless it was given to you from above.” Today, Ron reminds us that nothing we have is ours. We are stewards, not owners, of our money, our time, our talents. And when we learn to use our resources God’s way, we may be surprised by the results.

Speaking Words of Wisdom, Part 2

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can crush your spirit.Great is the power of the human tongue. It can divide or unite, kill or give life.Today, Ron returns to the book of Proverbs to show us how we can use our tongues for good and not for evil, to build one another up instead of tearing one another down.

Speaking Words of Wisdom, Part 1

Did you know that twenty percent of the book of Proverbs is devoted to the human tongue? That’s how seriously God takes the words we say. They have the power to heal or to harm to comfort or to kill.Today on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones shares a few words about our words, as he continues his teaching series from the book of Proverbs, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Wisdom While You Work, Part 2

What does your work ethic say about you? Are you a sluggard or an ant? Do you do what needs to be done on your own, or do you wait for someone to tell you to do it? God has a lot to say about the way we do what we do. And that’s where Ron takes us today as he continues his teaching series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Wisdom While You Work, Part 1

Did you know that the old-fashioned American work ethic, the one we see all the way back in the eighteenth Century, was rooted in the pages of Scripture? It’s true, our founding fathers built America’s foundation on God’s Word, that includes the idea of rewarding people who were willing to work for what they had. Today, Ron will challenge you to take a good look at your own work ethic as he continues his teaching series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Financially Wise and Otherwise, Part 2

Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived other than Jesus Christ. So if he has something to say about money management, it’s a good idea to listen. You may not know it, but Ron’s undergraduate degree is in financial planning. Today, he uses that knowledge, plus some wisdom from the book of Proverbs, to share what he calls the ten-ten-eighty financial plan.

Financially Wise and Otherwise, Part 1

True wisdom comes from God and God alone. And if we heed it, it always leads to a healthier, more joyful life. Coming up next on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us to the book of Proverbs to share some godly wisdom about our personal finances.

A Father's Advice to His Son, Part 2

Attention all parents, God has given you a special brand of wisdom and insight as it concerns your children. Do not shy away from sharing it. Throughout the book of Proverbs, Solomon trains his son to make wise decisions about the friends he chooses, about sexual purity, about money management, in short, about living life God’s way. The message is clear, we as parents have been charged with the task of passing along godly wisdom to the next generation.

A Father's Advice to His Son, Part 1

The book of Proverbs is designed to help believers in Christ grow in knowledge and wisdom, and then to take that wisdom and pass it down to the next generation. That’s what Solomon did for his son, and that’s where we’re headed next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Making Wise Choices About Sex, Part 4

For the past few days here on Something Good, Ron has been looking at what the book of Proverbs says about sexual immorality. Along the way we’ve seen how slowly and subtly sexual temptation can lead to sexual sin, and if we’re not careful, sexual addiction. How can we avoid these issues? Find out next, as Ron continues his series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Making Wise Choices About Sex, Part 3

Sexual temptation seldom overtakes you all at once. It comes in stages, each one more dangerous than the one before. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us through the stages of seduction, and reminds us that for anyone who is in Christ, there is always a way of escape.

Making Wise Choices About Sex, Part 2

God created sex for two reasons, recreation and reproduction, and for two people, a man and his wife. Today, Ron takes us to the Old Testament book of Proverbs, both to remind us of God’s design for sex, and to warn us of the consequences of venturing outside His will. It’s all part of his continuing series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life,” and it comes your way next.

Making Wise Choices About Sex, Part 1

The world spends an awful lot of time talking about money and sex. As it happens, so does God. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us directly to God’s Word, specifically the book of Proverbs, to give us God’s instruction regarding sexual intimacy, something the world has and continues to pervert.

The Secrets of a Successful Life, Part 2

What’s true about our finances is true of life in general. Those who live the best lives are the ones who give their lives away. Coming your way next, Ron takes a look at what it means to live successfully in the area of our personal finances, as he continues his teaching series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life."

The Secrets of a Successful Life, Part 1

The world defines success in terms of individual achievement. But God’s ways are not our ways. Today, Ron continues his teaching series from the book of Proverbs, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.” As you follow along, pay special attention to the keys to living a successful life. These are practical steps, seemingly simple steps, but following them is not as easy as you might think.

The Hidden Treasures of Wisdom, Part 2

Are you a treasure hunter? Are you willing to seek after godly wisdom with perseverance and passion? The Bible tells us that we will seek God and find Him if we seek Him with all our heart. Today, Ron reminds us of what the pursuit of wisdom looks like. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

The Hidden Treasures of Wisdom, Part 1

Coming up next on today’s edition of Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us once again to the book of Proverbs to explain the true value of wisdom. Now wisdom isn’t as easy to find as your wallet or your car keys, it takes some hard work and perseverance. But the rewards of godly wisdom are well worth the sacrifice.

Straight Talk for Mr. Smarty Pants, Part 2

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But a fool despises wisdom and instruction. In our last broadcast, Ron introduced us to Lady Wisdom. The book of Proverbs tells us we need to listen to lady wisdom, and respond to lady wisdom. But there are two more things we need to do with wisdom, and that’s where we pick it up today as Ron continues his series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Straight Talk for Mr. Smarty Pants, Part 1

Do you remember the old E. F. Hutton commercials? When E. F. Hutton talks, people listen? Well, when Lady Wisdom talks, it’s a good idea to listen to her as well. Today, Ron takes us once again to the book of Proverbs as he continues his series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

Choosing Friends Wisely, Part 2

In our last broadcast, Ron took us to Proverbs chapter one to talk about the importance of choosing the right kind of friends, like-minded believers in Christ who can encourage us in our faith. As he continues the message today, he’ll tell us how to go about doing just that.

Choosing Friends Wisely, Part 1

There are good ideas, and God ideas. Good relationships, and God relationships. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones continues his teaching series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.” Along the way he’ll remind us that the enemy will often use other people, acquaintances, classmates, co-workers, even friends, to tempt us to go astray.

The Beginning of Knowledge, Part 2

Go to any bookstore in America, and you’ll find thousands of books filled with maxims, axioms and wise sayings. But not all proverbs are created equal. Coming your way next, Ron takes us to the preeminent source of wisdom, the Old Testament book of Proverbs, as he continues his series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

The Beginning of Knowledge, Part 1

When Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs, he gave us a garden of wisdom, but he did so without the flowery speech. He was a champion of brevity, clarity and wisdom, and his writings give us practical advice on virtually every aspect of our day to day lives. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones begins an in-depth look at the book of Proverbs in his series, “Wise Sayings: Guidance For Everyday Life.”

I AM the True Vine, Part 2

The relationship between obedience and abundance on today’s edition of Something Good Radio. You were created to have the abundant, joyful Christian life. But in order to live that life, you have a choice to make. Today, Ron shares the secret to abundance as he continues his series “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons He Is Still The One And Only.”

I AM the True Vine, Part 1

What does it mean to abide in Christ? What should it look like in your everyday life? Ron explores these and other questions today as he continues his series “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons He Is Still The One and Only.”

I AM the Way, Truth, and Life, Part 2

Today, Ron takes us to John chapter fourteen to explore one of the hard sayings of Jesus, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” What did He mean? And in light of His bold claim, how should we respond?

I AM the Way, Truth, and Life, Part 1

It just may be the most controversial statement Jesus ever made, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.” When He made that claim, He distinguished Himself from all other religious leaders and belief systems. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones explores the meaning behind those words, as he continues his series, “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons Why He Is Still The One And Only.”

I Am the Resurrection and the Life, Part 2

What about you? Do you believe Jesus is the resurrection and the life? My name is Brian, thanks for making us part of your day. Well, we’re about two weeks into Ron’s teaching series, “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons He Is Still The One And Only.”

I AM the Resurrection and the Life, Part 1

Are you going through a season of suffering today? Is your attitude towards God one of dependence, or disappointment? Today, on Something Good, Ron has a word of encouragement, and a word of caution, for anyone whose faith in God has wavered. Stay with us now as he continues his teaching series, “Why Jesus? 7 Reasons He Is Still The One And Only.”

I AM the Good Shepherd, Part 2

Have you ever asked the question, “Why is Jesus the only way? Why Jesus and not someone else?” God doesn’t mind you asking those questions. Nor does He mind answering them, because He wants all people to come to the knowledge of repentance. Today, Ron offers clear, biblical answers to the question many are asking, Why is Jesus the only way.

I AM the Good Shepherd, Part 1

Well, when Jesus said “I am the good shepherd,” He gave us a beautiful picture of His character. He leads us patiently, protects us continually, and loves us unconditionally. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones explores these words as he continues his teaching series, “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons Why He Is Still The One And Only.”

I AM the Door of the Sheep, Part 2

The day is coming when the door to salvation will close. But for now, it’s open to everyone. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the door of the sheep, and that His sheep hear His voice. In what ways does He talk to us? That’s what we’ll discover today in John chapter ten, as Ron continues his series, “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons He Is Still The One And Only.”

I AM the Door of the Sheep, Part 1

When you get right down to it, humility precedes salvation. You have to be humble enough to admit you’re not smart enough to live without direction from the Good Shepherd. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones takes us to John chapter ten, where we find the third of Christ’s seven “I AM” statements.

I Am the Light of the World, Part 2

If you want to walk in the light today but don’t know how, you’ve come to the right place. In just a few moments, Ron takes a hard look at this hard saying of Jesus, one that will help you learn to follow the light, and walk in it continually.

I AM the Light of the World, Part 1

When Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world,” He was not only telling us something about Himself, but about the dark and desperate world in which we live. Today, on Something Good, Ron sheds a little light on the subject, as he continues his series “Why Jesus?  Seven Reasons He Is Still The One and Only.”

I Am the Bread of Life, Part 2

What’s true of the body is true of the spirit. Knowledge of God cannot sustain intimacy with God. Today, Ron explores one of the hard sayings of Jesus, “I am the Bread of Life.” What did He mean? And how did those who were with Him respond to His words?

I AM the Bread of Life, Part 1

Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus made several “I am” statements. I am the way, the truth and the life. I am the vine. I am the door. But the first of these statements, from John chapter six, was “I am the bread of life.” Today, Dr. Ron Jones takes an in-depth look at these words as he moves forward his series, “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons Why He Is Still The One And Only.”

The Power of I AM, Part 2

It’s the most important question you’ll ever ask, who am I and why am I here. Coming up next, Ron takes us to Exodus chapter three to remind us that deciding who we’ll be in this life is far less important than knowing where we’ll be in the next.

The Power of I AM, Part 1

The world is filled with false gods and man-made idols. But there is only one “I AM.” Today, Ron begins his teaching series, “Why Jesus? Seven Reasons He Is Still The One And Only.” Along the way, you’ll discover not only who Jesus is, but why you should believe that He is who He claims to be.

Defeating Anger, Part 2

That which begins in the heart can only be overcome through a change of heart. Anger is like that. It begins in our hearts and, if not kept in check, can lead to angry words, angry actions, or both. To help us overcome this deadly sin, Ron takes us to the words of Jesus as continues his series, “Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.”

Defeating Anger, Part 1

The Bible tells us to be angry but do not sin. The question is, How do we do it. Ron has answers today on Something Good, as he moves ahead to the next stop in his series, Undefeated: Overcoming the Deadly Sins That Drag You Down.” As you’ll see over the next twenty minutes or so, there is a way to manage anger without sinning. There’s even a way to overcome it once and for all.

Defeating Pride, 1

God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Well, it was Satan himself, who at one time was the angel of God, Lucifer, who was kicked out of heaven because of his pride. And he has been appealing to our own sense of pride ever since. This is the first of the seven deadly sins. It’s also the deadliest, because it sets the foundation for all the deadly sins that follow. How can we overcome it once and for all? Answers come your way next, on this New Year’s Eve edition of Something Good.

The Midnight Cry, 2

The difference between religion and redemption, on this Thursday edition of Something Good Radio. In Matthew chapter twenty-five, Jesus shares the Parable of the Ten Virgins with His disciples. It’s a story about marriage, but more importantly, about the relationship between Jesus and His bride, the church. Ron unpacks this parable today as he shares another of his best messages from earlier this year.

The Midnight Cry, 1

When Jesus comes again, He will return like a thief in the night. He’ll also be coming like a groom for His bride. Well, what does marriage have to do with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? Perhaps much more than you may have guessed. Ron dives into the subject next, as he continues sharing some of his best messages from twenty-twenty-one.

Last Days Living, 2

God’s Word says we’re already living in the last days, that period of time between the first and second coming of Christ.  But are we living in the final days of the last days? Well, people have been asking that question for almost two thousand years. Today, Ron shares his thoughts on where we stand in prophetic history as he begins day two of, “The Best of Twenty-twenty-one.”

Last Days Living, 1

Are we living in the last days? Well, when you look at all that’s been happening in the world for the past year or so … wars and rumors of war, a worldwide pandemic, cultural and social unrest, you can’t help but wonder if this is the beginning of the end. Today, Ron takes us back two thousand years, to the Olivet Discourse, when Jesus spoke of events that may very well be happening right before our eyes.

Onesimus: Freedom, Forgiveness, and Second Chances, Part 2

The Gospel according to Philemon, on this weekend edition of Something Good. Well, that might sound a little strange … the Gospel according to Philemon, but considering the Apostle Paul wrote this letter, and that it points so clearly to Jesus Christ, it turns out to be an accurate description. Ron takes us there today as he wraps up his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How the Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

Onesimus: Freedom, Forgiveness, and Second Chances, Part 1

He’s a rather inconspicuous character in the Bible. Almost never mentioned at Sunday morning worship service. But today you’ll hear all about him next, right here on something good radio. Today, Ron takes us to the third shortest book in the entire Bible. One chapter. Three hundred and thirty five words. But it packs a pretty powerful punch.

Mary Magdalene: A Tormented Soul Set Free, Part 2

For Centuries rumors have swirled about the life of Mary Magdalene. Some say she was a prostitute. Other claim she was the wife of Jesus. Don’t believe it. Here’s what you can believe about Mary Magdalene.  She had at one time been possessed, not oppressed, but possessed, by seven demons, and Jesus set her free. What’s the difference between oppression and possession? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How The Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

Mary Magdalene: A Tormented Soul Set Free, Part 1

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. Well, if that Scripture sounds familiar, it’s because Ron has been using it throughout his current series, “Cracked Pots: How The Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.” Along the way we’ve studied the life of Moses, Jacob, and King David. Today, we come to yet another hero of the faith, one who found her way from torment to triumph. Her story begins next.

David: A Broken Man After God's Own Heart, Part 2

He began his life as a forgotten young shepherd boy, and became the most celebrated King the nation of Israel ever had. As a boy, David slayed a giant. As a young man, he slayed thousands of enemies in battle. But this man after God’s own heart made his fair share of mistakes along the way. Today, Ron takes us to the life of one of the greatest heroes of the Christian faith as he continues his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How The Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

David: A Broken Man After God's Own Heart, Part 1

He began his life as a forgotten young shepherd boy, and became the most celebrated King the nation of Israel ever had. As a boy, David slayed a giant. As a young man, he slayed thousands of enemies in battle. But this man after God’s own heart made his fair share of mistakes along the way. Today, Ron takes us to the life of one of the greatest heroes of the Christian faith as he continues his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How The Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

Jacob: Wrestling with God, Part 2

He fooled his brother. He deceived his father. He was a trickster and a swindler. And then one day, he picked a fight with God. Today, Ron takes us once again to the story of Jacob, a con man in his early years, a hero of the faith later on. How did this transformation come about? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How The Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

Jacob: Wrestling with God, Part 1

The first wrestling match, on this Wednesday edition of Something Good. Well, long before WrestleMania came along in the nineteen-eighties, there was a swindler named Jacob who decided to do the unthinkable. He picked a fight with God.  And even though he lost, he lived. And his life was never the same. Ron takes us to the story of Jacob next … as he continues his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How The Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

Moses: Moments of Glory, Feet of Clay, Part 2

He was once a confident, at times arrogant, young man. Forty years later, on the west side of the wilderness, we find a man whose confidence is all but gone. Today, Ron takes you to that West Side story, to the burning bush where God places a calling on Moses’ life, and Moses does everything he can to get out of it.

Moses: Moments of Glory, Feet of Clay, Part 1

If you’re looking for buried treasure, look inside the person you see in your mirror. The Apostle said we, as believers in Christ, have a treasure in earthen vessels. That treasure is the power of God, the power of Christ in us. Today, Ron shows us what that treasure looks like by taking us to the story of one of the greatest heroes of the Christian faith.

Treasure in Jars of Clay, Part 2

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” Does that sound like you today? Do you feel inadequate in some areas, weak and powerless?  Are you struggling with sin that has you feeling unworthy? Well, God wants to help you work through these struggles. But in the meantime, His glory can still be seen through the cracks and imperfections of your earthen vessel. Ron’s teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How the Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness,” continues next, so stay with us.

Treasure in Jars of Clay, Part 1

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” That’s Second Corinthians four, verse seven, and this is something good radio. Today, Ron begins his teaching series, “Cracked Pots: How the Glory of God Shines Through Our Brokenness.”

The Judgment of the Sheep and the Goats, Part 2

Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. We read those words in Matthew twenty-five, verse thirty-two. What does it mean, and when does this judgment take place? Answers come your way next, as Ron wraps up his teaching series,“What On Earth Is Happening: Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

The Judgment of the Sheep and the Goats, Part 1

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with Him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. That’s Matthew twenty-five, thirty-one, and this is Something Good. Just days before Jesus went to the cross to pay for the sin of mankind, He said these words to His disciples in what is known as the Olivet Discourse. Today, Ron takes us there, to that day of both joy and judgment, as he continues his teaching series, “What on Earth is Happening: Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

Faithful to the End, Part 2

Well done my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of much. Now enter into the joy of your Master. Would you like to hear Jesus say those words to you at the end of the age? If so, stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening? Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

Faithful to the End, Part 1

What does it mean to be faithful? Today Ron explores one of the most well-known parables of Jesus. It’s about stewardship, money management, but most of all, it’s about being faithful in all things, just as God is always faithful to us.

The Midnight Cry, Part 2

The difference between religion and redemption, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good Radio. In Matthew chapter twenty-five, Jesus shares the Parable of the Ten Virgins with His disciples. It’s a story about marriage, but more importantly, about the relationship between Jesus and His bride, the church. Ron unpacks this parable today as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening: Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

The Midnight Cry, Part 1

When Jesus comes again, He will return like a thief in the night. He’ll also be coming like a groom for His bride. Well, what does marriage have to do with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? Perhaps much more than you may have guessed. Ron dives into the subject next, as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening: Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

What Angels Wish They Knew, Part 2

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. In Luke twenty-one, verse twenty-seven, Jesus spoke those words in reference to His Second Coming, a future event that has been described as the most climactic event in human history. No one knows the day or the hour, but the question Ron wants to ask you today is … … in light of what will happen then, how should you be living now.

What Angels Wish They Knew, Part 1

The secret things belong to the Lord our God. Deuteronomy twenty-nine, twenty-nine. What are these secret things God is keeping to Himself? Well, there’s one thing in particular, about which almost all of us, believers and unbelievers alike … have been curious for Centuries. Even the angels don’t have the answer.  Ron takes us to heaven’s most closely guarded secret next, as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening?  Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

The Day Christ Returns, Part 2

The prophets spoke of it in the Old Testament. Angels have made reference to it in the book of Acts. Jesus talked about it Himself in the Olivet Discourse. The Second Coming of Christ, on today’s edition of Something Good. The Second Coming of Jesus is mentioned almost two thousand times in Scripture. When God talks about something that much, He’s trying to get our attention. Ron takes us to this prophecy next, as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening?  Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

The Day Christ Returns, Part 1

Today, Ron takes us to what will be the most climactic even in human history as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening? Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”  Brace yourself, today’s message promises to be one you won’t soon forget.

The Worst of Times On Planet Earth, Part 2

Therefore God will send them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth. That’s Second Thessalonians chapter two, and this is Something Good. Well, those are ominous words from the book of Second Thessalonians. But make no mistake, in the last days there will be strong delusion, and God is the one who will send it. But there is good news, and plenty of it, and it comes your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening: Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

The Worst of Times On Planet Earth, Part 1

It’s been called the darkest hour in human history. It hasn’t taken place yet, but it will, maybe sooner than we think. Today, Ron takes us to Matthew chapters twenty four and twenty five, a section of Scripture known as the Olivet Discourse.  Included in this passage is a word of warning, and a word of encouragement. “In this world you will have tribulation,” Jesus said.  “But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Signs the End is Near, Part 2

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Jesus said those words at the Mount of Olives, as recorded in Matthew chapter twenty four, verse seven. In light of these and other signs of the end of the age, how shall we now live?  Ron gives us three practical answers to that question next, as he continues his series, “What On Earth Is Happening? Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

Signs the End is Near, Part 1

Looking for a sign? Let’s explore a few signs that the end might be near, on this Wednesday edition of Something Good. Just a few days before Jesus went to the cross on our behalf, some of the disciples sat with Jesus on the Mount of Olives and asked, “What will be the sign of your coming at the end of the age?” Ron explores the Lord’s answer next, as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening: Exploring the Prophecies of Jesus.”

Last Days Living, Part 2

God’s Word says we’re already living in the last days, that period of time between the first and second coming of Christ.  But are we living in the final days of the last days? Well, people have been asking that question for almost two thousand years. Today, Ron shares his thoughts on where we stand in prophetic history as he continues his teaching series, “What On Earth Is Happening: Examining the Prophecies of Jesus.”

Last Days Living, Part 1

Are we living in the last days? Well, when you look at all that’s been happening in the world for the past year or so, wars and rumors of war, a worldwide pandemic, cultural and social unrest, you can’t help but wonder if this is the beginning of the end. Today, Ron takes us back two thousand years, to the Olivet Discourse, when Jesus spoke of events that may very well be happening right before our eyes.

The Last Words About the Last Days, Part 2

Today, we come to the conclusion of Ron’s teaching series “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ," and what a wonderful journey it’s been.

The Last Words About the Last Days, Part 1

If you’ve ever been with a loved one during his or her last hours on earth, then you know their last words are often the most important they’ll ever say. Well, today we come to the final chapter, and the final words, in all of Scripture. It’s what we might call God’s parting shot to mankind, and it comes your way next as Ron continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

There's a New World Coming, Part 2

It’s an age-old question. What will heaven be like. And though our minds cannot conceive or even begin to dream up a complete answer, God’s Word gives us glimpses of the place where believers will one day dwell. Today, Ron shares some thoughts on the new heaven and the new earth as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

There's a New World Coming, Part 1

Some years ago, a Christian song writer described heaven this way, “Love without measure, space without time, life without crying will one day be mine. Hearts never breaking, hands that don’t fight, days that don’t end with the darkness of night.” I don’t know about you, but that sounds good to me. Today, we’ll get a glimpse of heaven from the book of Revelation, as Ron continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Government of Christ on Earth, Part 2

The world has tried every possible form of government, democracies and republics, monarchies and dictatorships. Some are better than others, but all of them are flawed. Governments are flawed because people are flawed. But a day is coming in which God will set up His own brand of government on Earth, a true theocracy. What will it look like? How will it be run? For answers, Ron takes us to Revelation chapter twenty, as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Government of Christ on Earth, Part 1

The day is coming when Jesus Christ will set up His own brand of government on Earth. What will this one thousand year reign look like? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Glorious Return of Jesus Christ, Part 2

The first time around, Jesus came as a servant and a Savior. But when He returns at the end of this age, the world will see Him in all His glory. Today, Ron takes us to Revelation chapter nineteen to share a message about the Second Coming of Christ. It’s all part of his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ,” and it comes your way next.

The Glorious Return of Jesus Christ, Part 1

It’s the most talked-about event in Bible prophecy, and it’s talked about most in the book of Revelation. Almost from the moment sin entered in the world, God’s Word began to tell us about a coming Redeemer, the One who would take away the sin of the world. Today, Ron takes us to the Revelation chapter nineteen, where the Second Coming of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, is spoken of in great detail.

The Coming Worldwide Economic Crash, Part 2

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt and where thieves break in and steal.  Instead lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John writes about a future economic crash that will be unlike anything the world has ever seen. Today, Ron explores this crisis as he continues his series, “Mysteries Of The Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Coming Worldwide Economic Crash, Part 1

In the first several chapters of Revelation, the Apostle John vividly describes the disease, death and destruction that will mark the final years of planet Earth. But there’s yet another crisis that will wreak havoc during the Tribulation, and Ron covers it next, as he continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth, and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Armageddon, ISIS, and the Middle East Crisis, Part 2

Today, we continue our journey through the book of Revelation, as Ron moves ahead in his teaching series “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Armageddon, ISIS, and the Middle East Crisis, Part 1

In just a few moments, Ron takes a close look at the last days through the lens of these days. How might our current world climate relate to the prophecies unveiled in Revelation? Could we see the final days of Earth in our lifetime? All this and more comes your way next as Ron continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Bible Prophecy and the Big Picture, Part 2

The mystery and majesty of the book of Revelation are not easy things to untangle. The imagery is so vivid, the symbolism so complex, that even the Apostle John had to take a step back and show us the broader view. Ron takes us there now as he continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Bible Prophecy and the Big Picture, Part 1

One day all believers in Christ will have permanent victory over Satan. But what about now?  How can you walk in victory when it sometimes feels like you’re losing? It’s a question that demands an answer. Can we experience victory in this dark and fallen world, and if so, how. Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

One World Religion and the 666 Economy, Part 2

You can’t always tell if a person is a genuine believer in Christ. But the day is coming when the truth will be impossible to hide. Today, Ron takes us to a time on earth when people will be forced to declare their allegiance, either to the God of the Bible, or to the God of a future one-world religion. The series is called “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ,” and it continues next.

One World Religion and the 666 Economy, Part 1

The day is coming when our world leaders will create something close to a modern-day Tower of Babel, but with one tragic twist. Today, Ron offers an in-depth look at this coming one world religion as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Antichrist and the New World Order, Part 2

"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wornder, for Satan himself is an angel of light." In the last days of planet Earth, the antichrist will ride into town on white horse, and for while he’ll be a good guy. But forty-two months later, his true nature will be revealed. Today, Ron takes a penetrating look at the coming antichrist as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Antichrist and the New World Order, Part 1

There’s a new world coming. The rumblings about a New World Order have been around for decades. So far not much has come of it, but one day a man, or a group headed by one man, will actually pull it off. That man is none other than the Antichrist, spoken of at length in the book of Revelation. Make no mistake, a new world order and a new world leader, are coming. Today, Ron takes us to Revelation chapter thirteen to explain what that new world order will look like.

War in Heaven, Part 2

“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.” In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John writes about a war that will be waged in heaven. Today, Ron explores this battle as he continues his series, “Mysteries Of The Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

War in Heaven, Part 1

In the first several chapters of Revelation, the Apostle John vividly describes the famine, pestilence and death that will be poured out on Earth in the last days. Today, Ron turns his attention upwards, to Revelation chapter twelve, and to a war that will one day be waged in heaven itself. The series is called, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth, and the Return of Jesus Christ,” and it continues next, right here on something good radio.

The Mystery of God and the Two Witnesses, Part 2

We’re right in the middle of a six-week journey through the book of Revelation. Today, Ron returns to Revelation to tell you about two mysterious men from the Old Testament who come back to Earth during the seven-year Tribulation.

The Mystery of God and the Two Witnesses, Part 1

Today, Ron returns to the book of Revelation, which explains how the last days of planet earth will unfold. Along the way, you’ll hear about two Old Testament heroes who come to life again as prophetic witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Seven Trumpets of God's Wrath, Part 2

The Revelation of Jesus Christ is an unveiling of future events that will take place in the last days of Planet Earth. But it also reveals the condition of the human heart. It is deceitful above all things, it can harden itself against God even in the most dire circumstances. Today, Ron shows us what will happen when God pours out His wrath upon the earth. Brace yourself. The response of those who are still alive may not be easy to hear.

The Seven Trumpets of God's Wrath, Part 1

You are thus in the hands of an angry God. It is nothing but His mere pleasure that keeps you from being this moment swallowed up in everlasting destruction. Well, you’ve just heard some serious and sobering words, taken from Jonathan Edwards’ famous sermon in 1741, “Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God.” You’ll hear similar language today, as Ron takes us once again to the book of Revelation in his continuing series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Jewish Evangelism Explosion, Part 2

Have you ever wondered why it’s so hard to convince a Jewish person that Jesus is the Messiah? The answer comes your way next, on this Monday edition of Something Good Radio with Dr. Ron Jones. Today, Ron returns to the book of Revelation as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.” It’s a message about God’s chosen people, and about some of the reasons why many of them have not yet chosen God.

The Jewish Evangelism Explosion, Part 1

More than two thousand Bible prophecies have already been fulfilled. Each happened just as it was prophesied, without error and without exception. Today, Ron takes us to the books of Daniel and Revelation to talk about a prophecy that has not yet been fulfilled, as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Part 2

Wherever you are, and however you may be listening, thanks for spending part of your day with us. Today, Ron takes us to Revelation chapter six, and to the seven-year period known as the Great Tribulation. In these last days, four horsemen will bring famine, disease and death, the end result being that one quarter of the world’s population will die.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Part 1

Do you remember where you were on the morning of September eleventh, two thousand one? I bet you do. It was one of the most tragic days in United States history. But a season is coming when tragedy like that will happen on Earth every day for seven years. And the perpetrator will not be a group of terrorists. It will be God Himself. Today, Ron takes an inside look at the future judgment of God on planet Earth.

The Church in Heavenly Worship, Part 2

“And behold, I come quickly,” says the Lord. “And My reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” The Bible often speaks of how we can be rewarded on Earth. But at the end of this age, each believer in Christ will be eligible to receive five eternal rewards. Ron explores each of them today as he continues his series, “Mysteries Of The Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Church in Heavenly Worship, Part 1

In the first three chapters of Revelation, Jesus asks John to write down the things that are. Today, Ron turns his attention to Revelation chapters four and five, when John is asked to write down the things that are yet to come. It all comes your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth, and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Lukewarm Church in the Last Days, Part 2

For the past few days, Ron has been exploring Revelation chapters two and three, specifically the seven letters the apostle John wrote to the seven churches in first-century Asia. Today, we come to the final letter, a rather sobering message sent to the church at Laodicea, and one that could very easily have been written to the twenty-first century church in America.

The Lukewarm Church in the Last Days, Part 1

There are loveless churches, corrupt churches, and, at times, there are dead churches. What does God mean when He says a church is dead? What does it take to resurrect it? Today, Ron introduces us to the church at Sardis, and explains how that particular church can be a sobering reminder for us today.

Letters from Heaven, Part 2

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The Revelation of Jesus Christ is an unveiling of future events. But it also reveals the condition of the church, not only the seven churches in Asia to whom the letters were addressed, but every church from that day to this. Ron explores the content of these letters next, as he continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Letters from Heaven, Part 1

If you received a personal letter from God, what do you think it would say? In Revelation chapters two and three, the angel of the Lord tells the Apostle John to write letters to seven churches. These were actual first Century churches … each located in what is now modern Turkey. And even now, two thousand years later, these letters hold special significance for you and me.

The Mystery of the Seven Stars, Part 2

“And His voice was as the sound of many waters, and He had in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp, two-edged sword.” The Apostle John wrote those words about Jesus Christ, not as He was when He lived on Earth, but as He will be when He re-visits the Earth at the end of days. Today, Ron returns to the book of Revelation as he continues his series,“Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Mystery of the Seven Stars, Part 1

In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John describes Jesus as standing in the midst of seven golden lampstands and holding seven stars in his right hand. Today, Ron unlocks the mystery of this passage as he continues his series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Big Reveal, Part 2

Wherever you are, and however you may be listening, thanks for spending part of your day with us. Today, Ron explores one of the most mysterious books in God’s Holy, inspired Word, the Revelation of Jesus Christ. It was given to the Apostle John during his exile on the island of Patmos. And, although it’s already been shared with the world, it remains a mystery to many.

The Big Reveal, Part 1

He was the apostle whom Jesus loved, the one Jesus trusted to care for His mother, Mary. And years later, He was chosen to receive the Revelation of Jesus Christ and share it with the world. His name, of course, is John, exiled to the island of Patmos, where he received what you and I know as the final book of the Bible. Today, Ron takes us there as he explores one of the most mysterious subjects in all of Scripture.

Are We Living in the Last Days? Part 2

Jesus never shied away from questions about the end of the world. He answered them willingly and honestly. Today, Ron takes us to the Revelation of Jesus Christ to explore some of these answers. It’s all part of his continuing series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Are We Living in the Last Days? Part 1

Are we nearing the end of the world as we know it? Some say yes, others say no. But no matter when Christ comes back, whether it’s apocalypse now or apocalypse, later, He will come back. Coming up next, Ron begins his teaching series, “Mysteries of the Apocalypse: The Last Days of Planet Earth and the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Content Worshipper, Part 2

Ecclesiastes five, verse ten says, "Whoever loves money never has enough. Whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income." Well, other than Jesus, Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. So when he talks about learning to be content, we would do well to listen. That’s what I encourage you to do today, to listen as Ron talks about what it means to be content in all things.

The Content Worshipper, Part 1

Do you want to be a true worshipper? Learn to be a content worshipper. You may have heard of the prayer of Jabez. But tucked away in Proverbs chapter thirty is a lesser-known prayer, the prayer of a content worshipper named Agur. Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “True Worship.”

The Ruined Worshipper, Part 2

In Isaiah chapter six, Isaiah sees a glimpse of Jesus and he says, “I am ruined. For I am a man of unclean lips.” Well, this brokenness of spirit led Isaiah to the blessedness of repentance. It was a crushing that led to confession that ultimately led to a cleansing. Ron shows us how to get there for ourselves today, as he continues his teaching series, “True Worship.”

The Ruined Worshipper, Part 1

If you want to strengthen your body, you’ve got to put in the work, you’ve got to push yourself, break down the muscles so that they can repair themselves and become bigger and stronger. So it is in worship. Building spiritual muscle, on today’s Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. Like our physical muscles, our worship muscle increases in strength when we become broken, broken enough in our spirit that it leads to repentance. Ron explains this concept of worship next, as he continues his teaching series, “True Worship.”

The Transformed Worshipper, Part 2

I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “garbage in, garbage out.” Don’t believe it. Well, when garbage comes in, garbage very often stays in. And the only way to be transformed is to take out the trash, and replace it with the truth. Today, Ron shares a message about what it looks like to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

The Transformed Worshipper, Part 1

Do not be conformed to the image of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Today, Ron introduces the concept of transformational worship, of a spiritual metamorphosis that takes place when we reject the world and pursue the genuine worship of God. What is required for this transformation to take place? What does it look like when it happens? Answers are coming right up.

The True Worshipper, Part 2

When it comes to worship, the where is not nearly as important as the how and the Who. We’re told in Scripture to worship God at a local church. But that’s only one or two days of a seven-day week. Today, Ron encourages us to worship God in spirit and in truth, all the time, no matter where we find ourselves. What does it mean to worship Him in spirit and truth?

The True Worshipper, Part 1

There are all sorts of worshippers in Scripture. There are ruined worshippers, content worshippers, reluctant worshippers.  But for the next couple of days Ron will be talking about genuine worshippers. The place to start is in John chapter four with a conversation between Jesus and the woman at the well.

The Two Commandments of Worship, Part 2

The first commandment of worship is “thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” The second comes your way next … right here on Something Good radio. Well, even believers in Christ sometimes try to worship God plus something or someone else. God plus their spouse. God plus their job. God plus money. But as Jesus said, "No one can serve two masters."

The Two Commandments of Worship, Part 1

We were all created to worship. But who or what do we choose to worship? Well, that’s a worthwhile question, a critical question, because the best life we can live on earth includes the genuine worship of the God who created us to worship in the first place. But what is genuine worship? What does it look like in real life? Those are two of the questions Ron will answer over the course of the next couple of weeks in his teaching series, “True Worship.”

Angels Watching Over Us, Part 2

Today, we come to the end of Ron’s powerful teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.” And what a great series it’s been. If you’ve missed any messages along the way, be sure to visit something good radio dot org to listen to something good radio on your schedule.

Angels Watching Over Us, Part 1

Shawshank Redemption. Escape From Alcatraz. Cool Hand Luke. Hollywood has given us some great movies about escaping from prison. But no one does a prison break better than God. Today, Ron takes us to Acts chapter twelve, where Herrod Agrippa the First kills James and throws Peter into prison. That story and more come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

The First Christians, Part 2

Christianity is under attack like never before in America. Ridicule. Frivolous lawsuits. Open hostility from the mainstream media as well as social media. How should we respond? For answers, Ron takes us back to the very beginning of the church, and to a body of believers who faced severe persecution of their own.

The First Christians, Part 1

Some two thousand years ago, the church was born into a hostile culture. We haven’t seen too much of that here in America. But times are changing. Today our culture is more openly hostile to Christianity than it has ever been, and unless something changes it will only get worse. The question is, how should we respond to this hostility. Ron has three practical suggestions for us today as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Pride, Prejudice, and the Gospel, Part 2

“Then Peter opened his mouth and said, ‘In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality but in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.’” Well, the Apostle Peter didn’t always feel this way. But a supernatural encounter with God showed him the truth. Ron takes us there next, as his continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Pride, Prejudice, and the Gospel, Part 1

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John three, sixteen doesn’t tell us that God so loved Jerusalem or that God so loved America. It says He loved the world, every nation, every tribe, every tongue. Today, Ron takes us to Acts chapter ten, and to one of the great turning points in church history.

Does Anybody Need a Miracle? Part 2

You know, every now and then, God will do the amazing. A sign. A wonder. A miracle. And He does it so that people will see His power and come to faith in Christ. You’ll find two such miracles in Acts chapter nine, and Ron shares them with us today as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Does Anybody Need a Miracle? Part 1

"For I am not ashamed of The Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; 'to the Jew first', and also to the Gentile."  Today, we return to the book of Acts, where God is setting the stage to do the next big thing in His church. This was a unique time in church history, a transitional time, and Ron takes us there next, as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

The Secret to a Growing Church, Part 2

Do you want to build a church that never stops growing? Start with a leader who never stops trying. Today, Ron takes us to the life of the Apostle Paul to show us the four keys to church growth. It’s all part of his continuing series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles,” and it comes your way next.

The Secret to a Growing Church, Part 1

Saul of Tarsus had killed Christians before, and he was on his way to do it again. But God had other plans. Well, the conversion of Saul is one of the most amazing stories in Scripture, and it paved the way for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be taken to the Gentiles. Today, Ron shares some of the secrets to church growth as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Transforming a Terrorist, Part 2

I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. If you’ve lost hope that God has a plan for your life, you’ve come to the right place. In just a few moments, you’ll be reminded that as long as you have a pulse, you have a purpose, no matter how many setbacks you’ve endured, no matter how many mistakes you have made. Today’s message is straight ahead, as Ron continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Transforming a Terrorist, Part 1

Some people do what they believe is right. Others do what is right. Today Ron takes us to Acts chapter nine, and to the story of a man who was sincere in his belief that he was doing the right thing. But as you’ll see in just a few moments, he was sincerely wrong.

Divine Appointments, Part 2

Today Ron takes us to the story of Philip, and to an encounter he had with man who was looking for answers about God and His Word. It’s a great reminder for all of us to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and to be willing to go wherever God leads us.

Divine Appointments, Part 1

Have you ever had a Divine appointment? A meeting with one or more people that you knew, beyond all doubt, was orchestrated by God? In Acts chapter eight, an angel of the Lord appeared to Philip and told him to walk to a chariot and talk to the man he would find there. Ron shares the story next, as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Overcoming the Powers of Darkness, Part 2

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age." Well, you may think of terrorists and murderers, maybe even some politicians, as the enemy. But the real enemies of God are the unseen forces of darkness led by Satan himself. How do we defeat them? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Overcoming the Powers of Darkness, Part 1

Before he was a teacher, he was a terrorist. We know him now as the Apostle Paul. But before he was a missionary, he was a murderer, a hitman for the Sanhedrin who took the lives of Christians, and did so in the name of God. Today, Ron takes us to Acts chapter eight to show us how the unseen forces of evil began to gather against the early church, and how God used that persecution to expand His Gospel beyond Jerusalem.

The First Martyr, Part 2

Full of grace, filled with the Holy Spirit, martyred for his faith. What we can learn from the life, and the death, of Stephen, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good radio. Today Ron takes us once again to the story of the first Christian martyr, a young follower of Christ who shared his faith with boldness as well as grace.

The First Martyr, Part 1

The church was born out of the blood of Jesus Christ. And it grew, at least in part, by the blood of Christian martyrs. Today, Ron shares the story of Stephen, a deacon in the early church in Jerusalem, a leader full of grace and filled with the Holy Spirit, and a man who gave his life for the cause of Christ. It all comes your way next, in Ron’s continuing teaching series, “A.D. Acts of the Apostles.”

Putting First Things First, Part 2

Today, Ron continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.” It’s a timely message about how the early church selected its leadership, how it solved problems, and most of all, how it grew in spite of heavy persecution.

Putting First Things First, Part 1

When we read the book of Acts, we see that the early church faced several challenges from without. Political leaders, religious leaders, anyone opposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The persecution began almost immediately and grew worse over time. But today Ron takes us to a different kind of problem, one the church faced from within, as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Obeying God Not Man, Part 2

Where do you get your marching orders, from God or from man? Well, that which is legal isn’t always right. And as you’ll see today, that which is illegal isn’t always wrong. Today’s message is straight ahead, as Ron continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Obeying God Not Man, Part 1

Always glad to have you with us. Today, Ron takes us to Acts chapter five, where we find a supernatural demonstration of God’s power taking place in the early church. Healings. Signs and wonders. Thousands coming to faith in Christ. All this at a time when the church was often told not to share the Gospel at all. Today’s message is straight ahead.

Money, Lies, and the Fear of God, Part 2

Today, Ron takes us once again to the shocking story of Ananias and Sapphira. It’s a sobering look at the way God may sometimes deal with disobedience, and it comes your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Money, Lies, and the Fear of God, Part 1

It’s one of the most shocking stories in the entire New Testament, and it comes your way next, on today’s edition of Something Good. Things seemed to be going quite well for the early church. People were being saved, the body of Christ had a strong community life, and then the unthinkable happened. Ron has the full story straight ahead, as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Holy Chutzpah, Part 2

Are you reluctant to share your faith in Christ? Maybe even a little frightened? Well, it’s natural to be a little uneasy about sharing your faith. But God wants to give you something supernatural, the power to go from fearful to fearless, bashful to bold. Today, Ron gives you three steps to doing just that, as he continues his series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

Holy Chutzpah, Part 1

If I asked you to name the single greatest threat to the Christian faith, what would you say? You don’t need to answer just yet. Instead, think about it for the next few minutes as Ron shares more of his teaching series, “A.D. Acts of the Apostles.”

The Beautiful Miracle, Part 2

How can you know that Jesus is who He claims to be? There is an answer to that question, and Ron shares it with you today as he continues his series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

The Beautiful Miracle, Part 1

A sign and a sermon, on this Wednesday edition of Something Good. Well, the book of Acts is in many ways a book of firsts. In Acts chapter two we see the outpouring of the Holy Spirit for the first time, followed by the first sermon of the church age. Today, Ron takes us to Acts chapter three, and to the first miracle ever performed by an Apostle of Jesus Christ.

Community Life, Part 2

Acts chapter two says this about the first Christian church, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer. And many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles." Today, Ron returns to the book of Acts to give us a glimpse into the life of the early church, and to encourage us to uphold the original tenets upon which it was founded.

Community Life, Part 1

Acts chapter two is one of the most exciting passages in all of Scripture. The supernatural birth of the church. The first sermon ever preached in the church age, in which three thousand people came to faith in Christ. And then there’s a brief passage that explains what we now know as the five purposes of the church. That’s where Ron is headed today as he continues his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

The First Sermon, Part 2

Consider the words of Peter in Acts chapter two. "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christs for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Peter’s message was the first sermon of the church age. Simple, direct, straight to the point of what it takes to receive salvation. Today, Ron takes us to this sermon … to this Day of Pentecost, as he continues his series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

The First Sermon, Part 1

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans ten, seventeen. Earlier in Romans fourteen, the Apostle Paul said, “how will they hear without a preacher?” The spread of the Gospel has always depended, at least in part, on people sharing that truth with the world. Today, Ron takes us back to the day it all began. It’s a sermon about a sermon, and it starts right now.

The Supernatural Birth of the Church, Part 2

The baptism of the Holy Spirit happens at the point of your salvation in Christ. But the filling of the Holy Spirit, that’s a separate experience. Today, Ron explains the difference between being baptized by the Holy Spirit, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. If that sounds a little perplexing, don’t worry. Ron is about to clear up any confusion.

The Supernatural Birth of the Church, Part 1

The birth of the world and the birth of Jesus Christ are two of the most dramatic events in human history. We’ll add one more to the list next, on today’s edition of Something Good. Today, Ron takes us to Acts chapter two, and to one of the most amazing scenes in all of Scripture.

The Power of a Praying Church, Part 2

Are you waiting on an answer from God today? How much have you talked to Him about it? Well, you can make a list of pros and cons. You can talk to a pastor, a friend or a spouse. But unless you’re spending a healthy amount of time in prayer, any decision you make will be something of a gamble. Ron talks about the power of prayer today as he continues his series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles.”

The Power of a Praying Church, Part 1

When you read the book of Acts, you can’t help but notice all the good things the disciples of Christ were doing to launch the church and help it grow. But behind it all was a commitment to prayer. Prayer set the foundation for everything the early church was able to accomplish. Ron talks about this essential ingredient today as he continues his series, “AD: The Acts of the Apostles.”

Jesus, the Revolutionary, Part 2

You don’t have to be a pastor or an evangelist to be a witness for Christ. Are you comfortable sharing your faith, or does it make you a little uneasy? Today, Ron reminds us that we’ve not only been called to be witnesses for Christ, we’ve been equipped to fulfill that calling.

Jesus, the Revolutionary, Part 1

We’ve got a real treat for you today, as Ron launches his teaching series, “AD: Acts of the Apostles,” which will take us back to the very beginning of the church. How it got started. How it grew. We kick things off next with a two-part message about the way Jesus revolutionized the world and laid the foundation for what we now call the church age.

The End of Wonders, Part 2

Today, we come to the conclusion of Ron’s teaching series, “Mysteries of Babylon.” As he wraps up this group of messages, he takes us to the one thousand year reign of Christ on Earth, and offers some perspective on how we as believers in Christ should live in light of the future second coming of Christ.

The End of Wonders, Part 1

The book of Daniel has always been beautifully prophetic. The Bible tells us that no one knows the day or the hour when Jesus will return. But it does reveal some of the signs of the end of the age, and today we see many of them coming to pass right before our eyes. Stay with us now as Ron takes us to Daniel chapter 12 to talk about one of the most fascinating prophecies in all of Scripture.

Antichrist, Armageddon, and the Fate of the Jewish People, Part 2

Well, how much do you know about the Battle of Armageddon? What about the coming antichrist, who will one day wield great political, financial and religious power? Much of what you need to know is found in Daniel chapter eleven, which is where Ron takes us today in his continuing series, “Mysteries of Babylon: How the Prophecies of Daniel Prepare Us for the Return of Jesus Christ.”

Antichrist, Armageddon, and the Fate of the Jewish People, Part 1

So let me ask you … are you a naturalist, or a super-naturalist? If you’re not quite sure, join Ron for the next twenty minutes or so as he takes us to Daniel chapter eleven, and to one of the most amazing prophecies in all of Scripture.

Warfare in the Heavenly Realms, Part 2

You may think you have enemies, but when you get right down to it, you really only have one. Well, believe it or not, the people who don’t like you are not the enemy. Neither are terrorists, corrupt politicians or serial killers. We all have one enemy, and his name is Satan. Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter ten to remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the unseen forces of evil in the spiritual realm.

Warfare in the Heavenly Realms, Part 1

The prophet Daniel recorded four visions in the Old Testament book that bears his name. Today, we’ll explore number four. So let me ask you, do you believe in the devil and his demons? Many people don’t. But Jesus did. So did the prophet Daniel. Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter ten to share Daniel’s vision about a war in the spiritual realm.

The Future of the Nation of Israel, Part 2

Much of God’s prophecy about the nation of Israel has already come to pass. But some of it is yet to come. Today Ron takes us to Daniel chapter nine to unveil biblical prophecies that have yet to take place. Stay with us now for what promises to be an eye-opening message, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of Babylon: How the Prophecies of Daniel Prepare Us for the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Future of the Nation of Israel, Part 1

Almost every day, the nation of Israel is in the news. Have you ever wondered why? Another day, another news story about trouble in the Middle East. Let’s go behind the headlines, behind the columns and television segments brought to us by the mainstream media, to find out why the nation of Israel is and will continue to be so prominent. That’s where Ron takes us next, as he continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of Babylon: How the Prophecies of Daniel Prepare Us for the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Power of Prayer and Prophecy, Part 2

What does it take to have a strong prayer life? Find out next, on today’s edition of something good with Dr. Ron Jones. Well, prayer is perhaps our most powerful spiritual weapon, one that many believers in Christ don’t use often enough. Today, Ron gives us three keys to having a successful prayer life, as he continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of Babylon: How the Prophecies of Daniel Prepare Us for the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Power of Prayer and Prophecy, Part 1

Believe it or not, prayer and prophecy are inextricably linked. Today, Ron takes us to the book of Daniel to show us why prayer and prophecy are so critical to the life of a believer in Christ, and how the two go hand in hand. Stay with us now as Ron continues his series, “Mysteries of Babylon: How the Prophecies of Daniel Prepare Us for the Return of Jesus Christ.”

The Time of the End: From Antiochus to Antichrist, Part 2

In the last days of planet Earth, times will grow increasingly dark. Moral depravity on a grand scale. Hatred of God and Israel, persecution of the followers of Christ. What should be our response to a message like this? Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Mysteries of Babylon.”

The Time of the End: From Antiochus to Antichrist, Part 1

A ram, a goat, and two little horns, on this Monday edition of Something Good. Daniel was a man of visions, Divine visions in which God revealed the future to him so that he could share it with all who had ears to hear. Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter 8 to reveal the significance of the ram, the goat and the two little horns, and the impact they will one day have on the nation of Israel.

What God Knows About Future World History, Part 2

Centuries before the Roman Empire rose to prominence, God had already prophesied its eventual fall. But the day is coming when it will rise again. Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter seven, and to one of the most fascinating prophecies in the Bible. It concerns the rise of a revived Roman Empire and the man who will ultimately lead it, the Antichrist.

What God Knows About Future World History, Part 1

Today, Ron launches his brand new teaching series, “Mysteries of Babylon.” We begin in the seventh chapter of Daniel, one of the most fascinating prophetic books in all of Scripture. Some of what Daniel prophesied has already taken place, but much of it hasn’t. So, today, let’s talk about tomorrow.

Inside the Lion's Den, Part 2

God will tame the beast. But first, He might need to calm the beast in you. Well, fear and anxiety can often overtake us like a beast. And when they do, they can swallow up our faith. Today, in the conclusion of his teaching series, Standing Strong, Ron highlights the faith of Daniel, and encourages us to demonstrate that kind of faith when we find ourselves inside the proverbial lion’s den.

Inside the Lion's Den, Part 1

What does it take to be a good role model? Today, Ron takes us to chapter six of the book of Daniel, a man who found so much favor with God that he rose to prominence in a godless culture. Along the way, Ron shares four essential qualities that every good role model should have.

The Man Who Could Not Be Bought, Part 2

Where will America be in the last days of planet Earth? Answers come your way next, on this Monday edition of Something Good. Well, America is becoming a more godless culture by the day, which begs the question: What will happen to the United States? Does it play a role in Bible prophecy, and if so, what is that role? Ron offers his insight today as he continues his teaching series, “Standing Strong.”

The Man Who Could Not Be Bought, Part 1

Today, Ron takes us to a party, and what a party it was. It was thrown by the King of Babylon, and it was marked by drunkenness, sacrilege and an absence of moral restraint. It’s all part of Ron’s continuing series from Daniel, “Standing Strong,” and it starts right now.

Heaven Rules, Part 2

I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “rules were meant to be broken.” Don’t believe it. Well, we may sometimes break God’s rules, but the one thing we can count on is that He never breaks His own. Today, Ron shares two unbreakable rules of God as he continues his teaching series, “Standing Strong.”

Heaven Rules, Part 1

God opposes the proud, but He gives grace to the humble. We serve a merciful, patient and loving God, a Father who always gives us ample time to repent. But when pride persists, a fall is inevitable. Today’s message is straight ahead. Stay with us now as Ron continues his series, “Standing Strong.”

Turning Up the Heat, Part 2

Today, Ron takes us once again to Daniel chapter three, and to one of the most extraordinary stories in the Bible.

Turning Up the Heat, Part 1

When life turns up the heat, does your faith grow cold? Whether it’s pressure from your peers or hostile threats from your enemies, your faith can be challenged when the pressure is on. How will you respond? Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter three, and to a familiar story that will show us what faith under fire should look like.

A Look Back at the Future, Part 2

Centuries before the Roman Empire rose to prominence, God had already prophesied its eventual fall. Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter two, and to one of the most fascinating prophecies in the Bible. To the Babylonians, this was a future event. To you and me, it’s history. It’s a sobering reminder of God’s authority and sovereignty, and it comes your way next.

A Look Back at the Future, Part 1

Today, Ron takes us to Daniel chapter two, and to a critical moment in the life of both Daniel and the Babylonian empire. It’s a story about a dream, but more importantly, the interpretation of that dream, and the power of God to reveal the future to whomever He chooses. The series from Daniel 1-6 is called, “Standing Strong.”

Character Under Pressure, Part 2

How can you show character under pressure? Find out next, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good. Well, Daniel was a man of high character, and it was put to the test by the King of Babylon. Today,, from Daniel chapter 2, we’ll find out how he responded, as Dr. Ron Jones as he continues his teaching series, “Standing Strong.”

Character Under Pressure, Part 1

When enemies come against you or try to harm you, their actions reveal their character. They can also reveal your own. Well, it’s hard to get a good read on someone’s character until they face adversity. That’s when our true character is revealed. Today, Ron takes a look at what genuine, godly character looks like.

Standing Strong in a Godless Culture, Part 2

During the time of Daniel the prophet, ancient Babylon was a depraved and godless culture. Not all that much different from our own. Sad words, but true words. America is becoming more godless by the day, more opposed to Jesus and His followers than ever before. How do we stand strong in the face of such great opposition? Answers come your way next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Standing Strong.”

Standing Strong in a Godless Culture, Part 1

How can you be in the world but not of it? Well, you’ve joined us at the perfect time because today Ron begins his teaching series, “Standing Strong" from the book of Daniel. As believers in Christ, we’re called to be a light in an ever-darkening culture, to impact the world for Christ without conforming to the world’s image. Finding out how to do that is what this series is all about.

“Every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”
