Onesimus was a runaway cracked pot, broken by the cruelty of Roman slavery plus poor personal choices that led to thievery. However, his name means useful or profitable.

One of millions of slaves in the Roman Empire, Onesimus had stolen from his master, Philemon, and ran away to Rome. A runaway slave could receive the death penalty. While in Rome, Onesimus came to faith in Jesus Christ through an encounter with the apostle Paul. Then, Paul writes a personal letter to Philemon, a wealthy businessman in Colosse, asking him to forgive Onesimus and receive him back as his brother in Christ.

Are you a cracked pot who needs freedom, forgiveness, and a second chance? What God did for Onesimus, He can do for you.
