Imagine yourself as an Old Testament priest, serving the Lord and representing the people in a portable worship facility called the tabernacle. After washing at the bronze laver in the outer courtyard, you step inside the holy place, wherein is located a golden lampstand (Exodus 25:31-40).

The golden lampstand is the only source of light in the holy place and is a picture of Jesus who alone declares, “I am the light of the world.” He went on to say, “Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

Are you following the light of the world? Jesus lights our way into the holy presence of God.
