“Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” is a classic hymn of the Christian faith written by Robert Browning in 1757. He was twenty-two years old when he wrote the song. There is a line in the lyrics that always grabs my heart and forces me into a moment of self-reflection. “Prone to wander, Lord I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love.”

Does that describe you as much as it describes me? Have you wandered away from the Lord? Are you a backslider?

Because “all we like sheep have gone astray,” maybe it’s time for you to hear again the strong messages of the Minor Prophets who say to us, “Return to the Lord your God!”
