Love is a mysterious thing for the simple reason that men and women are so different. Years ago, John Grey wrote a best-selling book that captured this idea in the title, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.

Mars and Venus became trigger words used in our everyday conversations about relationships. It spawned other comparisons between men and women like “men are microwaves, women are crockpots” and “men are like waffles, women are like spaghetti.”

Married couples can either celebrate their differences or let them become the reason they experience ongoing conflict. Understanding what a woman needs from a man and what a man needs from a woman is one of the secrets of a satisfying marriage.
