Jesus was a master storyteller. His parables were earthly stories with heavenly meanings. Because everybody loves a good story, Jesus used parables to sneak truth into the hearts of His followers, as well as hide truth from those who would not believe (Matthew 13:10-16).

Jesus told stories about real people like farmers, business owners, tradesmen, brides and grooms, politicians and the natural world in which they lived. His parables were certainly entertaining, but they had a much deeper meaning and purpose, absent all the fairy dust and unicorns.

Jesus used parables to teach about the kingdom of heaven, which is always in conflict with the kingdoms of this world. Do you have ears to hear what the Storyteller says?
