Guard Your Heart

Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep your heart with all vigilance,for from it flow the springs of life.” A wise king and father named Solomon spoke these words to his son. 

 

The heart is the human control center. It determines the course of our lives, the choices we make, and the exercise of our free will. The problem is the human heart is a tributary of trouble. We are wild at heart. Jeremiah the prophet warned, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can understand it” (17:9). 

 

What springs flow from your heart? Remain wise and alert to your heart’s evil tendencies and with great vigilance guard it from going rogue.
