I have read more than a few things in the Bible that make me scratch my head in wonder. For example, Exodus 33:11 says, “Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.”

Face to face with God? What exactly does that mean? How did that happen? What did God look like? And, why would the God of the Bible lower Himself to meet face to face with mere human beings?

God has always desired to dwell with His creation and have a relationship with those who bear His image. The tabernacle He instructed Moses to build in the wilderness illustrates this and also points us to Jesus Christ.
