Common Temptation · Something Good Radio

One day cartoon characters Frank and Ernest were talking to a priest when Frank blurted out, “How come opportunity knocks once but temptation beats at my door every day?” That’s a great question, and you gotta love Frank’s honesty!

Jesus taught us to pray, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” This part of the Lord’s Prayer reminds us that temptation is the common experience of all humanity.

To the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul writes, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
