One of the secrets of a satisfying marriage is the ability of a husband and wife to edify one another. In the Bible, the word translated “edify” comes from two Greek words that together literally mean “to build a house.” Edification is a powerful building block of a great marriage and family.

A husband needs to build up his wife’s self-esteem and vice versa. Furthermore, the successful Christian home is a place where both the husband and the wife give each other positive edification, and they, in turn, give it to their children. By their words and actions, the family builds each other up rather than tears each other down.

Are you building up or tearing down your mate’s self esteem?
