Isaiah 40 pictures the building of a highway for our God through the desert places as He comes to revive us. Our responsibility is to lift up the low places, bring low the high places, straighten out the crooked places, and smooth over the rough places.

In other words, confession, repentance, restitution, and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are the ingredients that make for revival. John the Baptist drew upon these prophetic words, calling his generation to repentance and pointing them to Jesus Messiah.

Revival starts with confession. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Are you ready for revival?
