It starts as a simple misunderstanding between two people aboard an airplane. Calm turns into chaos and escalates beyond anyone's control. Or, you're driving down the freeway in your usual mild-mannered way when some cowboy in a two-ton pickup truck cuts you off. Suddenly road rage gets the best of you.

Anger management is big business today. It spawned a hit Hollywood movie starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. A course in anger management is even mandated by U.S. courts in some cases.

Long before therapists ever diagnosed certain anger disorders, Jesus linked anger with murder in the heart. "But I tell you," he said, "that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment" (Matthew 5:22).
