I

Jesus taught His disciples to pray with kingdom priority and in a way that aligns with the will of God. The phrase “Thy will be done” speaks of the rule of God’s law.

If Jesus reigns but does not rule in our lives, He is like the King of England, who sits on a throne but possesses no parliamentary authority. The King of England might accept such a role, but King Jesus expects to reign and rule in our lives, exercising His supreme will and authority. Jesus said to His disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 28:18).

All hail King Jesus! That idea could revolutionize most of the prayers I hear and voice myself.
